Former IU defensive lineman C.J. West avoided a major knee injury.

West’s knee buckled at San Francisco 49ers practice this week, but the initial diagnosis is a hyperextension.  He’s not expected to miss significant time.

Former Hoosiers offensive lineman Dan Feeney has found a new home in the NFL.  He’s with the Buffalo Bills at training camp.  The 31-year-old is in his ninth season in the NFL and now with his sixth franchise.

Tight end Zach Horton took some first team reps with Detroit this week the Lions deal with injuries at tight end.  He is also playing fullback.

Quarterback Kurtis Rourke is expected to be able to return around week 6 of the NFL season according to 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan.  Rourke had ACL surgery following his 2024 season at IU.

Wide receivers Ke’Shawn Williams and Myles Price are both competing for NFL rosters spots with the Steelers and Vikings, respectively.  Both players scored a touchdown in their most recent preseason contest.
