Here’s what the new IU football seating chart at Memorial Stadium looks like for 2024

As we reported last week, several aspects of the seating chart at Memorial Stadium got an overhaul during the offseason.

Two of the main components of the update involved creating a united student section in the north end zone, and bumping fans of the visiting team to a less desirable area.

Here’s how IU Senior Associate Athletic Director Jeremy Gray described the thought process of the school related to those changes:

“Our student section has a been a disjointed mess for years. We were too nice to visiting team’s fans. So uniting the student section and giving Maryland fans the nosebleeds was the right thing to do.

“This will put the students around the band and DJ. It will be more imposing. It will be easier to manage. We need to make our place difficult as hell for other teams.”

Below you can see the new Memorial Stadium Seat Map that reflects the results of those changes.

The student section will be completely connected, from Section 13 to 23, wrapping from the western part of the north end zone and into the eastern stands.

The visiting section is now in the southwest corner of the stadium, more than 60 rows from the field.  Of course if Indiana fans don’t buy the sections designated for the general public, those areas can be filling by fans of the visiting team as well.  Tickets for single games are now on sale.

In total the Hoosiers will play eight home games in front of the new configuration this fall in Bloomington.  You can see the complete schedule here.

Indiana opens fall camp on July 31 and the 2024 season kicks off on Aug. 31 at Memorial Stadium against Florida International.
