IU basketball will host a free public scrimmage the first weekend of October. Fans can watch new head coach Darian DeVries’ new squad on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. ET inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The event is free but fans are asked to bring canned food donations. Indiana football moved inside the top-20 in the week four AP and coaches polls, setting up a national top-20 matchup against Illinois this Saturday. The Hoosiers (3-0) are ranked No. 19 in the AP top-25, and No. 17 in the coaches poll released on Sunday afternoon following their 73-0 win over Indiana State. IU has moved up one spot in the AP and two spots in the coaches poll since the preseason.  They’ve been ranked in both polls every week so far this season. Watch below as the Big Ten Network profiled legendary former IU men’s soccer coach Jerry Yeagley, who continues to spend his retirement around the program he built. Yeagley won six NCAA titles and led IU to 16 trips to the College Cup. He made 12 appearances in the championship game, and every four-year Indiana player he coached competed in at least one College Cup. Yeagley’s overall career record was 544-101-45 (.821) and he posted a winning record in all 31 of his seasons in Bloomington. Indiana football won its 11th straight home game on Friday night at Memorial Stadium, a new all-time record for the Hoosiers.  The 11 straight home wins are the first 11 home games of head coach Curt Cignetti’s time in Bloomington. The record came in a 73-0 IU win over Indiana State and their head coach Curt Mallory, son of former Hoosiers head coach Bill Mallory.  The previous home winning streak of 10 was set during the 1987-88 seasons during the Bill Mallory era.
