Indiana tight end AJ Barner announced Sunday morning that he’s entering the transfer portal. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining wherever he lands. Barner was an IU team captain in 2022 as a junior. He started eight of Indiana’s 12 games, and played in 10 total. But he struggled with injuries all season, limiting his snap counts and productivity. Barner caught 28 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns on the year. Indiana women’s basketball lost one of its best players less than a week before taking the court against North Carolina. But if you didn’t know that going into the game, you wouldn’t be able to tell the Hoosiers lost a significant piece like Grace Berger. They just looked comfortable. Indiana football is hiring Wisconsin’s Bob Bostad as offensive line coach, the school announced on Friday. Bostad is the first change to Tom Allen’s staff this offseason. He just finished his fifth year of his second stint in Madison, though only spending 2022 as offensive line coach. He coached inside linebackers from 2017 through 2021. Two Wisconsin tackles and two guards graded in the top 100 in the country at their positions by Pro Football Focus this season. PFF rated center Joe Tippman as the 11th-best center in the nation. Indiana football closed out its whimper of a season with a whimper of a game. The Hoosiers dropped the Old Oaken Bucket game to Purdue, 30-16.
