Indiana basketball recruiting target Romeo Langford is on a historic journey to possibly become the all-time leading scorer in Indiana boys high school basketball history. We’ll continue to monitor his progress along the way. Former IU great Damon Bailey is the current all-time scoring leader at 3,134 points. Langford appears likely to pass a couple other IU greats soon: Alan Henderson and James Blackmon, Jr. Below we have charted Langford’s individual game performances for the 2017-18 season, his points needed to catch Bailey, and the points per game average that Langford would need based on New Albany’s minimum games (23)…

In a match that looked destined for penalty kicks, the Stanford Cardinal broke through in the second overtime and ended the Indiana University men’s soccer team’s quest for a 9th national title. Stanford won its third consecutive national title. After looking sharp in the early minutes of the first half with crisp ball handling and passing, IU then spent a lot of time in their own half of the field for the remainder of the half. The Cardinal held a 5-1 shots on goal lead at the break. A couple first half diving saves from goalkeeper Trey Muse helped keep…

The start of the game felt like Indiana might have turned a corner and might be on the verge of a season changing road victory as the Hoosiers ran out to a double digit lead. But first half foul trouble for Juwan Morgan and De’Ron Davis helped to change the course of the game as the pair spent much of the first half on the bench with two fouls each. The momentum continued to favor Louisville into the second half, and a prolonged cold shooting streak ultimately doomed IU. Louisville wins it, 71-62. Overall: C+ There were positives in this…

The Indiana Hoosiers go back on the road this Saturday to face the Louisville Cardinals at 2PM at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will be televised on ESPN. In recent years Louisville has had the reputation as a ball hawking defense that causes trouble for opposing offenses. Prior to this year Indiana’s offense has struggled mightily with turnovers. Accordingly a matchup with the Cardinals has been a dangerous proposition for IU. The last two matchups between the two traditional powers has borne that out. The teams played in 2014 and 2016. Louisville won both matchups by double digits and…
It goes without saying that 5-star in-state guard Romeo Langford is Indiana’s top remaining recruiting target for its 2018 class. The New Albany High School senior has trimmed his list down to 3 schools — Indiana, Kansas and Vanderbilt. For what it’s worth, prognosticators have Indiana and Vanderbilt as a coin toss, with Kansas bringing up the rear. We’d warn however that these predictions are more like uneducated guesses than anything scientific, with the percentages drifting with the wind of any unsubstantiated rumor. This is especially true with Langford, who has provided no clear indication as to which way he…
It looked like the turning point of Monday’s 77-64 Indiana win over Iowa was going to be late in the first half. Throughout most of the first half the teams stayed within a couple points of each other. At 6:25 the game was tied at 20. Led by 7 points and 2 assists from Devonte Green, Indiana would run out to a 41-26 halftime lead. The first half run was capped off by a great hustle play by Al Durham, Jr. at the buzzer: https://youtu.be/DPFwxGnQ2aQ But this Indiana team hasn’t been known for putting together complete games as it continues…
