To be sure, Virginia Tech was good.  Very good.  But Indiana just wasn’t going to lose this game, on this day, in front of that crowd.  After a recount it was announced that 13,007 fans showed up to support this deserving team, obliterating the previous program record by nearly 3,000 people. The game started out with…

Indiana University men’s basketball recruiting target Romeo Langford spent the week in Atlanta participating in the McDonald’s All-American Game and related activities.  After several different interviews and other media events, we heard more from the New Albany, Indiana guard in the last few days than we have heard in months. Whether or not we actually learned anything is another question.  Langford fielded every question imaginable regarding his final three recruiting choices (Indiana, Kansas and Vanderbilt), and there never really seemed to be a “tell” when he was talking about his options. Some have suggested via social media and other reports…

It is late March in Indiana, and save for the Pacers, basketball has largely gone dormant in this hoops crazed state. There is one other team still playing.  And just like water always finds its level, Hoosiers are finding their basketball.  As connoisseurs of the game, Hoosiers won’t just watch any basketball.  No, Hoosiers require something more, and the Indiana University women’s basketball team is delivering it in front of big crowds. On Wednesday night, IU defeated Texas Christian 71-58 to advance to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) championship game.  The Hoosiers will face Virginia Tech for the WNIT…

Indiana University’s Archie Miller said recently that there are no days off as a Division 1 college basketball coach.  If you have followed Miller’s travels across the state of Indiana and beyond during the month of March, you know he isn’t kidding.  On what seems to be a daily basis, the leader of the IU program and his staff are seen somewhere watching someone play. And there is good reason for that — the Hoosiers have holes to fill, including in the upcoming class of 2018.  As we mentioned in our recap of the top off-season questions, there could be…
