Indiana passed its first big test of the season with flying colors, dominating Marquette from the outset and never letting off the gas.  The Hoosiers move to 3-0 on the season and will now face their first big road test when they travel to Arkansas on Sunday. Indiana basketball head coach Archie Miller along with senior forward Evan Fitzner and junior forward De’Ron Davis met with the media on Tuesday afternoon to preview this week’s games against Marquette and Arkansas. With an Indiana offer in hand and IU connections, Markus Howard was at one time a Hoosier hopeful.  Now he is just a Hoosier nightmare. While the Hoosiers landed their own high scoring number zero in the recruiting wars in Romeo Langford, IU came up short with Marquette’s number zero Howard. Markus’ father Chuck was a two year letter winner as an IU running back in 1983 and 1984, playing for the program from 1981 to 1986.  That career spanned multiple notable football coaching names — Lee Corso, Sam Wyche and Bill Mallory. Indiana faces No. 24 Marquette on Wednesday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.  Back in May when this contest was first announced we took a look back to the last meeting between the programs. It was announced last night that Indiana will host Marquette in the 2018 Gavitt Tipoff Games in November.  It will be the first meeting between the programs since 2001 and the 10th all-time contest. Hoosier fans couldn’t know it at the time, but a frustrating 50-49 loss to Marquette at the Great Alaska Shootout in 2001 would end up being a very interesting game to look back…

Indiana head football coach Tom Allen and offensive coordinator Mike DeBord met with the media on Monday to review Indiana’s 34-32 win over Maryland and preview this Saturday’s road game at Michigan.
