All signs are pointing towards another step forward for the Indiana women’s basketball program. And after four straight 20 win seasons, that’s no small statement. Head coach Teri Moren returns four starters and 91% of her team’s scoring from a 21-13 season that saw the Hoosiers advance to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. That came on the heels of a memorable 2017-18 run to the WNIT championship. “As any year, our expectations are always great,” Moren said in a recent Big Ten Network interview. Those high expectations are shared outside the program as well this year. Indiana opens…

Indiana fans won’t have to wait long to find out where class of 2020 top 30 forward Dawson Garcia is going to college. The top recruit on the board for the Hoosiers, Garcia discussed where things stand with his top schools and his timeline for a decision with Tipton Edits. The Prior Lake, Minnesota product plans to make an announcement by Nov. 20. If the news that Indiana redshirt freshman quarterback Michael Penix has been lost for the season didn’t completely ruin your day, well, that’s somewhat understandable. Of course Monday’s revelation is very unfortunate on the individual level. Penix did all of the right things on and off the field to win the starting job, and then showed the kind of ability through nine games to leave Hoosier fans salivating over what the next few years might bring. But injured as much as he was healthy, Penix couldn’t stay on the field with multiple issues over the last two months. And in…
After a choppy start, Indiana hit the gas and didn’t look back in their 2019-20 season opener against Western Illinois. On a night when curious minds wanted to know who would step in and assume the scoring load, several veterans were up to the task. Even though Devonte Green, the player tagged by many to be the team’s leading scorer, sat out with a hamstring injury, there was no shortage of points as the Hoosiers flirted with the century mark. The opponents will eventually get more difficult, but nevertheless this relatively young Hoosier squad showed some promise in convincing 98-65…

A rash of injuries finally caught up with Indiana quarterback Michael Penix. The IU football program announced today that the redshirt freshman left hander from Tampa will miss the remainder of the 2019 season after suffering a right sternoclavicular joint injury. Penix had surgery on Monday. Backup Peyton Ramsey will now permanently assume the starting job after filling in for Penix in seven games this year. Ramsey is 113-of-157 (72 percent) on the season with 1,302 yards, 9 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. The Ohio native has played in 27 games over the course of his Indiana career. Below is the…
Indiana opens the 2019-20 season on Tuesday night in Bloomington against the Western Illinois Leathernecks. Unlike some programs that are tipping off the season with marquee matchups, Western Illinois represents the first of seven straight games at home to open the season against teams ranked outside of the KenPom Top 100. Here are IU’s first seven opponents, with their KenPom ranking (out of 353) in parenthesis. Western Illinois (No. 295) Portland State (No. 272) North Alabama (No. 279) Troy (No. 276) Princeton (No. 182) Louisiana Tech (No. 189) South Dakota State (No. 209) But that’s where the fun stops. After…
