If job one was to get through spring practice relatively injury free, mission accomplished there for IU football. Coach Curt Cignetti announced after the spring game, the one time IU went fully live and tackled over the last six weeks, that no one was injured on Thursday evening. Bryson Tucker is now officially leaving Indiana, but he’s staying in the Big Ten. The 6-foot-7 forward is headed to Seattle to play for Washington for his 2025-26 sophomore season according to reports. Indiana traveled to Washington in 2024-25, meaning Tucker and the Huskies are likely to be coming to Bloomington next season. Playing for second-year coach Danny Sprinkle will provide Tucker a fresh opportunity to tap into his undeniable potential. 7-foot center Fridrik Leo Curtis visited Indiana in December before ultimately committing to Arizona State. But prior to that IU visit, the product of Iceland took a visit to West Virginia and their then head coach Darian DeVries. Indiana, West Virginia and Arizona State were the only three visits he took. On Friday Curtis announced he has decommitted from Arizona State.  He committed there in January and was expected to sign this month. The college football spring transfer portal window is open, and Indiana has lost a couple key depth pieces along the defensive line. Defensive lineman Marcus Burris might be IU’s most significant loss since the end of the 2024 season.  He has been a regular in the IU defensive line rotation the last two seasons. A former 4-star high school recruit who started his career at Texas A&M, the 6-foot-5 and 285-pound Burris transferred to Indiana to play for Tom Allen ahead of the 2023 season.  He played in all 12 games with eight starts that season. Mackenzie Mgbako is headed to the Lonestar State and the Southeastern Conference. After two years at Indiana, Mgbako will play for Texas A&M and their new head coach Bucky McMillan next season, he announced on Thursday. Mgbako is the fifth member of the 2024-25 IU team to find a new home, following Malik Reneau (Miami, Fla.), Myles Rice (Maryland), Jakai Newton (Georgia State), and Gabe Cupps (Ohio State). ESPN announced on Thursday legendary College GameDay personality Lee Corso will retire. The outlet says Corso will make his final headgear pick on College GameDay on Saturday, Aug. 30 – Week 1 of the 2025 college football season – at a destination to be announced later this spring. Indiana has landed a commitment from Troy transfer guard Tayton Conerway. He chose Indiana over Mississippi State, Vanderbilt and others. The 6-foot-3 and 185-pound Texas native was named the Sun Belt Player of the Year in 2024-25.  Conerway led Troy in points (14.2), assists (4.8), steals (2.9) and minutes (30.4). He shot 47.1 percent from the field overall including 27 percent from three. He converted at a 66.4 percent clip at the free throw line. Indiana has landed a commitment from North Florida transfer wing Jasai Miles, he reported on his Instagram page. The news comes Wednesday evening as Miles is currently on a visit in Bloomington. Miles is coming off a breakout sophomore season for the Ospreys.  He captured Third Team All-ASUN honors for the initial All-Conference nod of his career in 2024-25. The 6-foot-6 Miles started all 32 games and averaged 15.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists on 42.5 percent shooting from the field including 33.5 percent from three in 31.4 minutes in 2024-25. Indiana is trending to land North Florida transfer wing Jasai Miles out of the transfer portal. National 247Sports recruiting analyst Travis Branham placed a prediction for IU to land Miles on Wednesday.  Additional predictions have followed. A product of Miami, Fla., Miles arrived at IU for a visit on Tuesday evening.
