IU football returned to the top 10 for the first time since 2020 following their 47-10 win over Michigan State on Saturday. The Hoosiers (9-0) are No. 10 in the new coaches poll released Sunday afternoon.  Indiana still trails No. 1 Oregon, along with one-loss Ohio State (No. 3) and Penn State (No. 7) from the Big Ten.  Those are the only four teams from the league ranked after Illinois dropped out. Indiana is not just 9-0, they’ve gone scorched earth. With a scoring margin on the that season averages out to a 33-point advantage per game, IU has destroyed everyone in their path so far. BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana defeated Marian in their lone home exhibition Friday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall by a final score of 106-64. IU had five score in double figures and they were led in the game by Bryson Tucker with 19 points.  Malik Reneau added 18 points and a team high 8 rebounds, and Oumar Ballo added 16 points. Pat Knight, former IU player and son of legendary Indiana coach Bob Knight, was introduced to the crowd at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Friday evening. Knight is the head coach of the Marian Knights, an Indianapolis-based team in town for a preseason exhibition. Knight was wearing a shirt that said “The General” on the front in honor of his father, who passed away one year ago today. On the one year anniversary of his passing, Indiana announced Friday a new display honoring legendary coach Bob Knight in the South lobby of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
