The weekly recognition haul continues for IU football. Indiana’s defense was the story of the Hoosiers’ 14-6 win over Wisconsin in Madison. And it should come as no surprise that the IU’s top performer on that side of the football was named the Big Ten defensive player of the week. Junior guard Grace Berger’s jumper at the third quarter buzzer gave the Hoosiers a 10-point edge going into the final 10 minutes in Lexington. IU has risen to its highest spot in the Associated Press (AP) poll since 1967 after a 14-6 win over Wisconsin. The Hoosiers are ranked No. 8 in the new AP poll released on Sunday, and No. 9 in the coaches poll. The Indiana football locker room is must-see after a big win, and Saturday evening in Madison was no exception. The emotions ran wild before the Hoosiers even reached the locker room as the IU players showered head coach Tom Allen with praise during his post-game interview on national television.
