Indiana wraps up its non-conference schedule with a rare morning tip at the Crossroads Classic in Indianapolis. While Indiana has managed to play all of its non-conference games, it has been a different story altogether for Butler. The Bulldogs will play just their third game of the season on Saturday as the team just recently emerged from a lengthy pause due to COVID-19. When it started in 2011, the Crossroads Classic was looked upon with anticipation by the four in-state participants and their fan bases. Utah is becoming Indiana West. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported early Friday morning that the Utah Jazz have agreed to a deal with guard Yogi Ferrell. “Free agent guard Yogi Ferrell has agreed to a deal with the Utah Jazz, sources tell the Athletic,” Charania wrote on Twitter. Ferrell will join former IU forward Juwan Morgan in Salt Lake City.  Morgan signed there as an undrafted free agent in 2019 and ended up starting two playoff games during his rookie season. First and foremost — the coaches. Indiana ended up with a program record 16 All-Big Ten performers in 2020 after three members of the IU special teams rounded out the league’s honorees on Thursday. Kicker Charles Campbell was named second team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and the media. Punter Haydon Whitehead and return specialist returner Reese Taylor both earned honorable mentioned recognition. As you likely know by now, graduate transfer guard Parker Stewart announced his commitment to Indiana this week. IU head football coach Tom Allen spoke with Dave Revsine of the Big Ten Network on Thursday to discuss his being named the Big Ten Coach of the Year. Both the coaches and media voted for Allen.  He is just the second IU coach to win the honor, and the last since Bill Mallory in 1987. Indiana head coach Tom Allen has been named the Big Ten Conference’s football Coach of the Year.  Allen earned the honor from both the league’s coaches and the media. In his fourth season in Bloomington, Allen led the Hoosiers to heights not seen in more than 50 years, including a top-ten national ranking and a 6-1 record with wins over Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Wisconsin.
