One of the class of 2022 recruiting targets Indiana fans are watching with keen interest significantly narrowed things down on Saturday afternoon. If Indiana is going to maintain its program momentum established over the last two seasons, the offensive line would be a good place to start. That group has remained a bit of a weak link despite Indiana’s 14-7 record compiled during the last two campaigns. The Hoosiers have struggled to convince talented in-state offensive lineman to stay home and play in Bloomington, and have instead watched several prospects leave for traditional powers. When it comes to Fort Wayne’s D.J. Moore, the trend could be about to change. IU was the first Division One program to offer Moore a scholarship back…

That service pegs him as the No. 214 overall player in the 2022 class and the No. 30 wide receiver.…
Indiana wants to build on the 14-7 record it has compiled over the last two seasons. But that won’t come easy. Playing in the Big Ten East, IU expects to face a challenging divisional slate each season. But the Hoosiers were the only Big Ten East team to appear in PFF’s top ten most difficult 2021 schedules. That means the rest of IU’s 2021 schedule is unforgiving too. The two games that truly separate Indiana’s schedule come in the first three weeks. IU will have a pair of top-20 matchups in September. The Hoosiers open the 2021 season on Sept.…

They will be looking to pick things up where they left off. A trio of Indiana University football players have earned preseason All-American recognition by both Phil Steele and PFF. Wide receiver Ty Fryfogle, cornerback Tiawan Mullen and linebacker Micah McFadden each earned the distinction from both outlets. McFadden was also named a Walter Camp preseason All-American. All three players earned postseason All-American honors after their highly productive 2020 campaigns. Fryfogle is the 21st Hoosier to reach 100 catches (112) and 1,500 yards (1,719). Fryfogle is 16th on the program’s career yardage list and 25th in career receptions. In 2020…

Over three seasons at Northwestern, the 6-foot-7 Kopp averaged 26.4 minutes, 9.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per contest while shooting 36 percent from 3-point range on 339 attempts. Kopp started 74 times in 87 games for the Wildcats. Kopp announced his transfer to IU in April. The Houston, Texas product arrived in Bloomington last month with two years of eligibility remaining. Kopp utilized the…
Kyle Schwarber’s topsy-turvy summer continued on Sunday with a significant career milestone. The lefty slugger became the first former Hoosier to be named a Major League Baseball All-Star since Mickey Morandini in 1995. Schwarber crushed 16 home runs during the month of June, leading the Majors and earning June National League player of the month honors. Twelve of those homers came in a 10-game span from June 19-29, tying Albert Belle in 1995 for the most home runs in any 10-game span in MLB history.
