Make that four double-digit losses in a row to Nebraska. IU got off to a slow start and trailed 13-3 early in Lincoln, but they found their footing.  The Hoosiers led 23-19 with 11:09 left in the first half, and neither team led again by more than five going into halftime.  Nebraska appeared to be pulling away when they took a 58-49 lead, but IU rallied to tie the game at 62 with 10:35 to go.  But it was all Huskers in the final 10 minutes, as they finished the game on a 21-4 run. Indiana lost to Nebraska on Friday evening at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Neb. by a final score of 85-68. Indiana sophomore guard Gabe Cupps reported earlier this week he had repair surgery on his right meniscus. So it was reasonable to expect a relatively long recovery timeline. On his Friday evening pregame radio spot with Don Fischer, IU coach Mike Woodson said there’s a good chance Cupps won’t return by the end of the 2024-25 season. Cupps will “probably be out for the rest of the season depending on how things go,” Woodson told Fischer. It will be a homecoming of sorts for former IU basketball star Thomas Bryant. The Miami Heat have agreed to a trade to send Bryant to the Indiana Pacers, Shams Charania is reporting for ESPN. The deal comes after the Pacers lost multiple big men to injuries and began a search for depth that landed on the 6-foot-10 Bryant. The Pacers will send a future second-round pick to the Heat for Bryant, Charania says. Now in his eighth season in the league, Bryant has averaged 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds over his career. Indiana took a major step towards rebuilding its running back room for 2025 with a commitment from UAB transfer Lee Beebe, Jr. That news was first reported by On3. Beebe was named third-team All-AAC following the 2024 season. As a redshirt sophomore in 2024, the 5-foot-10 and 220-pounder rushed 166 times for 884 yards and seven touchdowns (5.3 YPC).  The versatile back added 30 catches for 219 yards and led the team with 1,103 all-purpose yards.  Beebe posted a career-high 161 rushing yards against Rice. Indiana has a need at right tackle following the 2024 season, and they’ve got one of the transfer portal’s most prized players at that spot on campus Friday. Rivals is reporting Bowling Green offensive tackle Alex Wollschlaeger is visiting Bloomington today before heading to Kentucky tomorrow. The 6-foot-7 and 305-pounder started all 12 games at right tackle for Bowling Green in 2024 and was named first team All-MAC. Wide receiver E.J. Williams has decided to finish his college career at Indiana. The 6-foot-3 and 200-pound Williams opted to leave the team in October after playing in four games.  That decision allowed him to take a redshirt season and maintain a final season of eligibility. Shortly after the news broke two months ago, Williams said in a social media post he planned to have surgery to improve his chances to compete for a more significant role in 2025.  Williams said that decision was met by the IU coaching staff informing him he was not welcome back on the team…

Bosnian wing Harun Zrno is a player the Hoosiers have been in contact with for a while, and he now has a visit to Bloomington planned for next month.
