IU women’s basketball senior guard Grace Berger helped Team USA to an overall 6-0 record and a gold medal as it defeated host Puerto Rico in the 2021 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup on Saturday night, 74-59, at Coliseo Roberto Clemente. Through the duration of the tournament, the Louisville, Ky. native averaged 6.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game. On the first day Mike Woodson was allowed to watch recruiting targets in person, his first stop on Friday was in South Carolina to observe class of 2022 forward Noah Clowney. The 6-foot-10 Clowney is one of the fastest rising prospects in the incoming senior class.  He went from unranked to the No. 55 player in the country according to Rivals.  The 247Sports Composite lists Clowney as the No. 78 overall prospect in the class. Indiana University Athletics announced on Friday afternoon a return to full capacity for its 2021 fall sports. “This is one of the most exciting days for our department and for me personally as we announce our plans to welcome our fans back this fall,” AD Scott Dolson said in a release. Things are moving fast with a highly talented prospect from Louisville. Indiana offered class of 2023 small forward Kaleb Glenn on Tuesday.  On Friday he finalized plans to visit Bloomington next week. The Daily Hoosier is able to confirm a Twitter report by Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers that Glenn has scheduled a visit to Indiana on June 24. “Yes I’ll be in Bloomington next Thursday,” Glenn confirmed with The Daily Hoosier. Indiana freshman offensive lineman Joshua Sales met with the media this week to discuss his early days in Bloomington. The 6-foot-6 and 319 pound Sales Jr. enrolled in 2021 spring classes and participated in spring practice.  An in-state product, the Brownsburg High School graduate was named 2020 all-state, an all-conference honoree, and part of the 2020 Indiana All-USA Super Team. Sales did not allow a sack as a senior.  He registered 72 knockdowns in eight games. Another piece of Indiana’s 2021-22 nonconference schedule emerged on Thursday evening. According to a report by Jon Rothstein on Twitter, the Hoosiers will face Louisiana Lafayette in Bloomington. Led by head coach Bob Marlin, the Ragin’ Cajuns finished the 2020-21 season with a 17-9 record while competing in the Sun Belt Conference.  Louisiana Lafayette finished No. 201 according to the KenPom.com rankings. An expected emphasis on the class of 2023 has started since June 15. Indiana has offered its second player in as many days now that coaches are able to make direct contact with members of the incoming junior class.
