One name to keep an eye on as Indiana looks to complete its 2025-26 roster is forward Sebastian Wilkins. The 6-foot-8 and 210-pound Wilkins attends Brewster Academy, the same N.H. program that produced current Hoosier Reed Bailey. IU coach Curt Cignetti has said on multiple occasions the financial situation in the Big Ten was part of the appeal when Indiana came calling in 2023. A new report by Steve Berkowitz of USA Today highlights just how advantageous being a member of the league has become. Indiana and coach Curt Cignetti have made a major statement when it comes to how much they value strength and conditioning coach Derek Owings. According to a report by 247Sports national analyst Matt Zenitz, Owings’ new deal reported last week will be worth $900,000 per year and make him one of the top-five highest paid strength coaches throughout college football. Assembly Ball, the Indiana alumni team hosting The Basketball Tournament’s (TBT) Indianapolis regional alongside All Good Dawgs (Butler Alumni) at the Hinkle Fieldhouse from July 19-22, today announced the roster additions of former IU stars Yogi Ferrell and James Blackmon Jr. Ferrell and Blackmon Jr. join Assembly ball as the first two roster commitments. Additional players will be announced in the coming weeks. Indiana continues to expand its class of 2026 offer list under the direction of the new coaching staff. On Monday evening Caleb Gaskins announced an offer from IU. According to the On3 Industry Average, Gaskins is a 5-star prospect, the No. 11 overall player in the class, and the No. 4 small forward. The 6-foot-8 Gaskins transferred to Miami, Fla. Indiana is already off to a strong start in the high school recruiting class of 2026. Could a run of bad luck completely flip the narrative surrounding IU football in 2025? Well sure, too much bad luck can sink any ship. Both current IU player Tayton Conerway and former Hoosier Mackenzie Mgbako placed their names in the NBA Draft early entry list. But neither was invited to next week’s draft combine in Chicago. The NBA released the list of 75 players who have been invited to the 2025 NBA Draft Combine, which will take place from May 11-18 at Wintrust Arena and the Marriott Marquis in Chicago.
