Exhibitions often present an opportunity to go deep into the bench and test various lineups. Indiana won’t have that luxury when it hosts Marian Friday evening in Bloomington (7:30 p.m. ET, BTN Plus). Junior wing Nick Dorn is nearing a return from a foot injury, but he won’t play against the Knights. “Starting to work his way back into some action. Don’t anticipate him playing any tomorrow night,” IU coach Darian DeVries said Thursday of Dorn.  “The (Oct. 26) Baylor game I would probably say doubtful as well. We’ll see where that leads. “We’re certainly getting closer to getting him…

The Penn State noise has been shut down. For the second time in as many years, Indiana has restructured head football coach Curt Cignetti’s contract during the season. The new deal has an average annual compensation of approximately $11.6 million. Cignetti’s new contract runs through November 30, 2033. “I couldn’t be more proud to be a Hoosier, and I plan on retiring a Hoosier,” Cignetti said in a video released on social media. In so many ways, Indiana basketball has turned the page. There won’t be any familiar faces on the IU bench Friday evening when the Darian DeVries era unofficially tips off via an exhibition matchup in Bloomington. Not only is DeVries the new head coach — replacing former star player Mike Woodson — but the assistants are all new, the players are all new (save for a couple walk-ons), and the support staff is all new. While DeVries has said multiple times he fully embraces IU basketball’s rich history, he’s ushering in this next phase of the program with a total…

IU football coach Curt Cignetti likes to say his team has to avoid the “noise and clutter” to stay focused from week to week. But with Indiana experiencing unprecedented success, the noise is becoming difficult to ignore. Major job openings seem to emerge by the week, and each time that happens, Cignetti’s name is mentioned as a desirable, even if unlikely, candidate. Whether or not it is reaching the facilities in Bloomington, there’s significant outside noise and clutter attaching Cignetti’s name to the job opening at Penn State. And whether or not someone like Cignetti would ever be interested in…

Along with the B1G honor, Fisher was named the Bednarik Award Player of the Week and the…

IU football achieved bowl eligibility with their win at Oregon on Saturday, and no one noticed. That’s because if the season ended today, Indiana would almost certainly have a bye in the College Football Playoff — after competing in the Big Ten championship game. Like the AP top-25 and Coaches Poll, IU football is almost universally thought of as a top-four team.  And they won’t have to win the Big Ten to get a bye and host a CFP game in 2025. A new CFP policy implemented in 2025 guarantees the five highest-ranked conference champions a place in the Playoff,…

Purdue is No. 1 in the preseason for the first time.  Meanwhile, Michigan is No. 7, UCLA is No. 12, Illinois is No. 17, Michigan State is No. 22 and Wisconsin is No. 24.  Also receiving votes from the league are Oregon, Ohio State, USC,…

Following his June visit to Bloomington, Indiana seemed like a probable destination for class of 2026 4-star forward Latrell Allmond. Instead on Monday morning the 6-foot-8 Allmond announced his commitment to Oklahoma State. Allmond chose the Cowboys over IU, Virginia, Maryland and Tennessee. Indiana currently has one commit in its 2026 class — guard Prince-Alexander Moody.
