Don’t be fooled by the name on the front of the jersey, Indiana is in for a big test on Tuesday in Dayton (9:10 p.m. Eastern, truTV). Wyoming (25-8) is No. 58 in the nation according to KenPom.com, and that outlet likes No. 36 Indiana to win by just one point, 67-66.  Vegas has the Hoosiers as a 4-point favorite. Indiana women’s basketball will appear in its third consecutive NCAA Tournament.  And they’ll do it this year on their home court. The Hoosiers were selected as an at-large berth into the field on Sunday night. They will be the No. 3 seed and will host NCAA First and Second Round action at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Their No. 3 seed is the highest in school history, improving off last season’s No. 4 seed.  IU will host No. 14 seed Charlotte on Saturday (1:30 p.m. Eastern / ESPN2) in the first round.  The tip-time was not announced as of this writing.…

For the first time since 2016, Indiana will be dancing in March. Sort of. The Hoosiers received an at large bid to the 2022 NCAA Tournament, but they were selected as one of the final two at large teams, meaning they will first have to compete in a “play-in” game in Dayton, Ohio. IU (20-13) will face Wyoming (25-8) on Tuesday in Dayton.  The winner of that game will face No. 5 seed St. Mary’s on Thursday in Portland, Oregon. “It’s what it is. Indiana should be healthy for the next stage of the postseason. The Hoosiers were without reserve forward Jordan Geronimo for their Saturday Big Ten Tournament semifinal against Iowa after he suffered a knee injury on Friday. Geronimo was in uniform on Saturday but a limited participant in pre-game warmups and never saw the floor.  He had no brace or other support on his knee. Indiana suffered a heartbreaking last-second loss to Iowa in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals on Saturday afternoon. Jordan Bohannon hit a banked-in 3-pointer with one second remaining to clinch it for Iowa, and end the Hoosiers’ run at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The Hoosiers led at halftime 38-32 and were led in the game by Trayce Jackson-Davis with 31 points and 10 rebounds.  Xavier Johnson added 20 points and nine assists.
