Indiana continues to emphasize length as it dipped back into Texas for another 2024 prospect. The IU staff offered Dink Pate on Tuesday, he announced on his Twitter page. A Dallas, Texas product, Pate attends Pinkston H.S.  He played there as a freshman before transferring to Prolific Prep and then returning to Pinkston for his junior campaign.  Pate averaged 18 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game as a high school freshman before bouncing around as a sophomore between multiple schools. Many of you have been asking, and on Tuesday information finally came regarding Indiana’s trip to Las Vegas in December. Indiana fifth-year point guard Xavier Johnson has closure on the legal proceedings stemming from his April arrest related to a late-night traffic incident. According to Indiana public court records, Johnson appeared in court in person on Tuesday and plead guilty to the charge of reckless driving at and unreasonable high speed so as to endanger safety, a Class C misdemeanor. Johnson’s felony charge of resisting law enforcement was dismissed. Dustin Dopirak of the Bloomington Herald-Times first reported the news. Johnson received a 60 days suspended sentence, and he is subject to a term of unsupervised probation for 360 days.  Johnson…

Mike Woodson could not have been more clear a year ago. Whenever he was asked about the rollout of his system prior to his first season as the IU basketball head coach, Woodson would quickly remind his team was mainly focused on the defensive end. Indiana got one of 2023 guard DeShawn Harris-Smith’s last visits, but his next trip to Bloomington appears likely to be made in an opposing uniform. On3 national analyst Jamie Shaw joined on Monday a growing chorus of voices who believe Harris-Smith will end up with Maryland. IU basketball forward Trayce Jackson-Davis is one of five to earn the prestigious honor of being named a Blue Ribbon preseason All-American. The Greenwood, Ind. product is the first Hoosier to earn the distinction since Thomas Bryant prior to the 2016-17 season. “Trayce has the opportunity to build quite a legacy for himself and our program,” said IU Coach Mike Woodson in a release. “He’s worked extremely hard this summer and we are counting on him to be a leader by example who sets the tone for everyone else on our team.” The Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook is an…

You didn’t think we could complete the series without a look at Indiana did you? Last but not least are the Hoosiers, a team many are calling the Big Ten favorite in 2023.
