There was no let down following a statement win over Tennessee earlier in the week. Indiana went on a 9-0 first quarter run against Bowling Green and never looked back on Thursday evening in Bloomington. The No. 9 Hoosiers (4-0) led 28-10 after one quarter, and 49-21 at halftime, against a veteran team expected to be competitive in the MAC Conference.  Bowling Green came into the game 2-0 with a high-powered offense that head coach Teri Moren says was impressive on film. “I am pleased. “Recruits, come play for this man.  Best coach in America.” That was Indiana offensive lineman Dylan Powell, who interrupted Tom Allen’s post-game interview on ABC after a 14-6 win over Wisconsin in Madison in Dec. 2020. One-by-one they followed Powell as Allen tried to answer questions in the end zone, and his team ran behind him towards the locker room. “Best coach in the nation,” said running back Stevie Scott.  “Best coach in America,” said safety Jamar Johnson. A month later…

Nigerian center Somto Cyril says he hasn’t made a decision on whether he’ll go to college in 2023 or 2024. But during an official visit in Bloomington over the weekend, he was paying close attention to the opportunity at Indiana next year. “They (Indiana) have four players leaving next year, and two of them are the bigs, so right now on their roster they have a little playing time if I were to come there next year,” Cyril told The Daily Hoosier. That message came up on Mike Woodson’s radio show on Monday night as well.  “We’ve got to get…

Mike Woodson’s lengthy NBA career can pay dividends to Indiana in a number of ways — including on the recruiting trail. The second-year IU head coach has extensive relationships across the basketball spectrum, including a long list of former players. When IU senior forward Trayce Jackson-Davis went looking for feedback on Woodson when Indiana hired him in 2021, he ended up connecting with Carmelo Anthony. “I asked around, I asked last year, Carmelo Anthony, he told me he was his favorite coach he ever played for, and I can see why now,” Jackson-Davis said earlier this year. Woodson’s bond with…
