After a 2-0 week that included a high major road win at Xavier, IU men’s basketball moved up a spot to No. 11 in the new AP top-25 released on Monday. It marks the second time Indiana has moved up a spot after opening the season at No. 13. Indiana was comfortable at their home away from home on Sunday evening. Miami kept things interesting for a while at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.  The RedHawks trailed just 21-20 with around seven minutes remaining in the first half.  But IU pulled away from there.  They took a 17-point halftime lead and added to it after the break.  After the sluggish start, the Hoosiers won it comfortably, 86-56. Indiana junior guard Trey Galloway sat out of the Hoosiers’ Sunday 86-56 win over Miami (Ohio) in Indianapolis.  The team announced before the game he was being held out for precautionary reasons. According to head coach Mike Woodson, the Culver, Ind. product has what he described as a minor knee issue. “We didn’t play Gallo tonight,” Woodson said.  “He got banged up in the game before or he would have been in the rotation. “He twisted his knee the other night at Xavier, and we’re just being cautious to make sure he is okay.” Galloway did not participate in pre-game…

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Indiana defeated Miami (Ohio) by a final score of 86-56 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Sunday evening. The Hoosiers led at halftime 43-26 and were led in the game by Trayce Jackson-Davis with 17 points and 16 rebounds. It’s a recurring theme at this point.  IU jumped out to a quick lead on Sunday afternoon and never looked back. The Hoosiers closed the first quarter on a 10-0 run and cruised to a blowout win over Quinnipiac at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. IU men’s soccer advanced to the round of 16 with a 1-0 win over St. Louis at Bill Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington on Sunday afternoon. Ryan Wittenbrink scored the game’s lone goal in the 75th minute.  Indiana outshot the Billikens 16-11.  IU had three shots on goal to none for St. Louis. Down 24-7 at halftime, it looked like more of the same for Indiana on Saturday afternoon in East Lansing.
