During pre-game warmups for Iowa on Tuesday night, all signs were pointing to near term return for fifth-year point guard Xavier Johnson. But IU basketball coach Mike Woodson still doesn’t know if that return will happen on Sunday when the Hoosiers conclude the regular season at home against Michigan. Johnson was a full participant in pre-game warmups Tuesday, and to the untrained eye he looked physically ready to go.  He was dunking in the layup lines and moving like someone preparing to play. When it comes to earning a coveted…

(UPDATE:  See the latest scenarios after Thursday’s Big Ten action) Thanks to wins on Wednesday by Penn State and Ohio State (over Northwestern and Maryland), Indiana is still squarely in contention for a double-bye in the 2023 Big Ten men’s basketball tournament. Half of the league is now tied in the loss column with eight.  They all trail Michigan, a seven loss team IU has already beat once and plays on Sunday, and Purdue, who has locked up the No. 1 seed.
