An injury to San Antonio starter Devin Vassell meant former IU basketball one-and-done start Romeo Langford got a chance to start on Friday night. The New Albany, Ind. product was up to the challenge. After a one-and-done tenure as an assistant coach at Indiana under Mike Woodson, Dane Fife is still evaluating his career options. One possibility is television, and on Friday night the former IU basketball star will make his debut as a college basketball color commentator. Fife’s first foray into television will take place at a location he called home for ten years.  He will join BTN play-by-play man Kevin Kugler on Friday evening at 6 p.m. Eastern at the Breslin Center in East Lansing for Michigan State’s game against Buffalo. At least two IU basketball players are on the radar of NBA scouts and executives for the league’s draft in June. But in the eyes of ESPN NBA Draft analyst Jonathan Givony, neither would be selected if the event were held today. Givony released his latest two-round projection earlier this week, and Trayce Jackson-Davis and Jalen Hood-Schifino were both on the outside looking in. Indiana’s pursuit of one of the top players in the class of 2024 continued on Wednesday evening. According to multiple reports, IU assistant coach Kenya Hunter traveled down to the John Wall Holiday Invitational in Raleigh, N.C. to watch 5-star guard Dylan Harper and other prospects. According to Adam Zagoria, the 6-foot-5 Don Boscoe Prep (N.J.) combo guard had 24 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists in a 74-52 win with Hunter watching. The IU football class of 2022 was the program’s best ever during the rankings era, and the majority of that class will return in 2023 with four years of eligibility remaining.
