Stop me when you’ve heard this before. Kentucky is unwilling to come to Bloomington. Why?  Because self-important types have egos. Indiana has offered class of 2025 forward Preston Copeland. The North Carolina product announced the offer on his Twitter page on Sunday evening.  He was in Indiana over the weekend for the Crossroads Elite camp. The 6-foot-8 Copeland attends Raleigh Christian H.S. in Raleigh, N.C. Copeland is the brother of former Nebraska player Isaac Copeland, who averaged 12.9 points per game in 2017-18 and 14 points per game in 2018-19 for the Huskers. According to multiple reports, class of 2023 in-state guard Joey Hart will visit Indiana early this week. The 6-foot-5 Hart decommitted from Central Florida in May and is in the process of looking for a new home in relatively short order.  Most of Indiana’s freshmen in the class of 2023 have already arrived on campus in Bloomington. Hart chose UCF over Toledo, Evansville and Ball State, and then subsequently raised his profile with a strong senior season. Trayce Jackson-Davis won’t need directions for his next NBA workout. IU’s all-time leading rebounder and shot blocker will participate in a pre-draft for the Indiana Pacers, the NBA franchise reported. Jackson-Davis will take part in the Pacers’ sixth pre-draft workout in preparation for the 2023 NBA Draft on Monday, June 5 at the Ascension St. Vincent Center in downtown Indianapolis. Indiana is sitting pretty in Lexington after knocking off top-seed Kentucky at the NCAA Regional on Saturday evening at Kentucky Proud Park. The Hoosiers appeared to be in trouble after Kentucky posted two runs in the top of the seventh to take a 3-1 lead. Indiana has made the cut for one of their main targets in the class of 2024. 5-star combo forward Liam McNeeley is down to six schools. The Daily Hoosier caught up with fast rising class of 2024 shooting guard Austin Swartz of the Boo Williams AAU program.  Indiana offered Swartz a scholarship in April. With 21 points per game, Swartz was the third-highest scorer on the Nike EYBL Circuit this spring.  He added 3.4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 44.3 percent from the field overall including 37.2 percent from three, and Swartz made 88.9 percent from the stripe. Indiana will host class of 2024 top-20 wing Tyler Betsey on an official visit in Bloomington June 14-16, according to Andrew Slater. Betsey will also visit UConn and Creighton during the month of June according to a subsequent report by Travis Branham of 247Sports. The Connecticut product is a 4-star and the No. 19 overall player in the class of 2024 according to the On3 Industry Average. Indiana has extended the contract of women’s basketball coach Teri Moren, the school announced on Friday. Moren’s deal now runs through the 2028-29 season and makes her one of the highest paid women’s coaches in the country.
