Indiana’s best half of offensive football this season came against Louisville in Indianapolis in week three. The Hoosiers racked up 250 yards in that half alone, just a bit under the 252 they averaged per game against Ohio State, Akron and Maryland. Following a 44-17 loss at Maryland, Tom Allen could have just come out and said Tayven Jackson was still the guy at quarterback. He didn’t do that. And what he did say seems to make it clear — the IU quarterback competition that extended into week two is back on. Indiana will play a true road game for the first time this season as Big Ten play resumes. Waiting for the Hoosiers is a solid Maryland team with a red hot quarterback who has rewritten the program record books. ESPN’s preseason look at the women’s college basketball landscape highlights the challenge in front of Indiana as they look to repeat in 2024 as Big Ten champions. The developments are coming at us fast in the class of 2024 as the November early signing period approaches. Today we’ll count two more high school seniors as formally off the IU recruiting board. 2024 wing Tyler Betsey visited IU over the summer but the Hoosiers faded from the picture at some point along the way after that.  He will announce his decision on Oct. 6, and multiple national reports have said in recent days that’s a Cincinnati vs. Alabama battle at this point. Hoosier fans making the road trip to Atlanta now know how to plan for Indiana’s December matchup with Auburn. The Southeastern Conference and ESPN announced television and game times for each member school on Thursday. The Big Ten vs. SEC matchup between IU and Auburn will tip at 2 p.m. ET on Dec. 9 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Ga. For fans watching on television, the game will be broadcast on ESPN2. There’s been a lot of talk about Indiana class of 2024 5-star recruiting target Boogie Fland this week. And a growing consensus IU, Kentucky and Alabama were his top three schools. He confirmed that on Thursday.
