Indiana snapped a more than 30-year losing streak to Michigan in 2020, but there’s a much longer run of suffering against the Wolverines that remains. You’d have to be older than 60 to remember the last time IU won at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor. There was a long stretch in the series when the only way to beat Michigan was to do so in Ann Arbor.  24 of the first 25 meetings (from 1900 to 1958) between the Hoosiers and Wolverines took place at Michigan.  Things have balanced out since, but in total, of the 71 all-time meetings, only…

There will be no change at quarterback under the direction of new offensive coordinator Rod Carey. IU football head coach Tom Allen said on Monday Tayven Jackson will remain the starter as the Hoosiers return from their bye week.  Jackson was replaced late in Indiana’s last game at Maryland when Indiana trailed 37-3 in the second half, and after that game Allen seemed to leave the door open for a potential change at signal caller.  The introduction of a new offensive coordinator ostensibly enhanced that possibility. Allen shut down the speculation at his Monday morning press conference, but acknowledged Jackson…

Ex-Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente has joined the Indiana’s football staff as an analyst, according to multiple reports. The addition of Fuente comes after new offensive coordinator Rod Carey was promoted from an analyst role. The Indiana vs. Kentucky basketball series resumes in 2025. But there’s a Hoosiers vs. Wildcats battle underway on the recruiting trail right now. As we’ve reported here for a while, class of 2024 top-20 point guard Boogie Fland has strong interest in Indiana, with a decision coming very soon. The 6-foot-3 Fland is formally down to three schools, but 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham says things are even more narrow than that, and confirms Fland is in decision mode. “Fland officially cut his list down to three in Alabama, Indiana and Kentucky but it has become a very tight battle…

National college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman shared the following tidbits from IU basketball’s Pro Day. Goodman cited an NBA executive in attendance as his source: “One NBA Executive after watching Indiana pro day yesterday: Kel’el Ware didn’t participate due to a shoulder injury. “He has a lot to prove this year – especially with his motor. He’s obviously talented, and someone will probably take him in the first round due to his upside.” On Mackenzie Mgbako: “He shot it well, plays hard and has good size. He shot it very well from 3. I worry about his athleticism, but he…

He may be biased, but former IU basketball star Victor Oladipo says one of his teammates is the most underrated Indiana player of all-time. IU’s recruiting class of 2010 wasn’t heralded as one of the nation’s best, but it did produce two players who became major contributors for the Hoosiers. Of course Oladipo improved considerably and catapulted his career to the NBA, where he ultimately became an All-Star. His 2010 IU classmate Will Sheehey kind of got lost at times, surrounded by stars like Cody Zeller, Yogi Ferrell, Jordan Hulls, Christian Watford and Oladipo.  Because of that star-power, Sheehey didn’t…
