Class of 2024 5-star forward Liam McNeeley will visit Indiana for the second time. The Montverde Academy and Plano, Texas product will come to Bloomington for a senior year official visit Sept. 8-10, he confirmed with The Daily Hoosier.  The 247Sports Indiana site first reported he had set a date. He also visited IU a year ago in September. “The energy that Indiana has as a state and school is just crazy,” McNeeley told The Daily Hoosier about his first visit.  “The fans show so much love, the coaches show so much love.  It’s hard to not like Indiana.” McNeeley…

Indiana fans have been through the highs and lows with head coach Tom Allen. Following an eight win 2019 season, Allen was the national coach of the year in 2020 as he led the Hoosiers to a 6-1 regular season with wins over Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin. That two year run has been sandwiched by the kind of frustration IU football fans are accustomed to.  There were back-to-back five wins seasons in 2017 and 2018, and the last two years have been downright miserable. The fans have ridden the wave of emotions in a predictable manner.  Allen…

We are 16 weeks away from the start of the 2023-24 college basketball season. Around this time every year we begin to see preseason outlooks from the national pundits who cover the sport. CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein issued his annual Big Ten outlook on Monday, and it should come as little surprise he’s got Purdue slotted in as the league favorite, with Michigan State the preseason No. 2 squad.  That’s a top two we expect you’ll see on repeat as the national coverage rolls out in the coming weeks. After Purdue and Michigan State, we suspect you’ll see a wide…

Steph Curry, Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Steve Kerr. For a rookie, joining the Golden State Warriors is akin to attending an NBA fantasy camp.  The stars are everywhere. But it’s no fantasy for Trayce Jackson-Davis.  The Warriors are all business.  They’ve won four of the last nine NBA titles.  And the former IU All-American was targeted by Golden State because they know he can step in and contribute to a fifth ring. Jackson-Davis had a pre-draft workout with Golden State and interviewed with the front office.  For a franchise in NBA title or bust mode, they quickly realized…

Indiana football fans would like nothing more than to erase the memory of one of the more heartbreaking losses in program history. Tennessee can no longer claim it won the Gator Bowl over IU following the 2019 season, but nothing really changes in the Indiana record book. And certainly the pain remains. On Jan. 2, 2020 in Jacksonville, the Hoosiers appeared on track to win their first bowl game since 1991. With 8:50 remaining on the clock in the fourth quarter, Indiana had a 22-9 lead and was in possession of the football.  One more long drive by IU was…

When we caught up with Flory Bidunga last week, it didn’t sound good for Indiana. Now it feels pretty safe to say the 6-foot-9 class of 2024 5-star center won’t be playing at IU. A couple months ago Bidunga had an official visit set to Indiana that appeared to be his last before an early August decision.  But last week he said he would only take additional visits “if he had time.”  And this week Bidunga all but ended Indiana’s recruitment. “No more visits, I’m done,” Bidunga told Rivals’ Rob Cassidy on Friday at an event in Las Vegas. Based…

With his former head coach in the stands, Trayce Jackson-Davis made his long-awaited NBA Summer League debut on Thursday evening. The IU All-American played 20 minutes for Golden State and scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting.  He did not attempt a 3-pointer.  Jackson-Davis added seven rebounds, and an assist, steal and a block. IU coach Mike Woodson and his wife were in attendance in Las Vegas to support Jackson-Davis, who started for the Warriors. Jackson-Davis is wearing No. 32 for the Warriors, the same number his father Dale Davis wore in the NBA.  A few of Jackson-Davis’ highlights from the…
