As we reported a couple weeks ago, class of 2024 4-star guard Jaeden Mustaf was planning to take a visit to Indiana in June. We now have definitive dates for the visit. Mustaf will be in Bloomington June 8-10 according to Joe Tipton of On3. The 6-foot-6 guard will also visit N.C. State on June 4 according to Tipton.  Mustaf has previously taken an official visit to Florida State. Earlier this year, the Washington, D.C. metro area product named a top-five of Indiana, N.C. A couple more tidbits pertaining to the 2023-24 IU basketball schedule were revealed on Monday afternoon via reports. College basketball reporter Rocco Miller says IU will host Wright State on Nov. 16 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.  Under head coach Scott Nagy, the Raiders were 18-15 this past season and ranked No. 197 nationally according to KenPom. Indiana has faced Dayton, Ohio based Wright State twice, once in the 1993 NCAA Tournament, and again in 2010.  The Hoosiers won both meetings by wide margins. In recent years IU fans had to sweat it out when it came to NBA Draft stay-or-go decisions by team stars. There was the decision by Juwan Morgan prior to the 2018-19 season, and multiple springs when it wasn’t clear what Trayce Jackson-Davis would do. It’s hard to believe we are still knee deep in roster construction scenarios here in the second week of May.  But that’s where things stand at the moment. It’s graduation weekend in Bloomington, and six IU basketball players have earned degrees the program announced on Saturday. The following players are now graduates according to IU: Trayce Jackson-Davis (Sports Marketing) Xavier Johnson (Liberal Studies) Miller Kopp (Liberal Studies) Anthony Leal (Entrepreneurship) Nate Childress (Management) Michael Shipp (Business) Majors are as described in the program’s media guide. Johnson and Leal are both expected back with the program next season. Indiana just didn’t get players like this. So when Jerimy Finch transferred from Florida following the 2007, it created a considerable buzz in and around the IU football program. Coming off a 7-6 season and Insight Bowl appearance, Indiana appeared to be a program on the rise, and the addition of Finch only added to the heightened expectations. Jordan Geronimo left Indiana after three seasons and two head coaches, but it won’t be long before he makes a return trip to Bloomington. The 6-foot-6 Geronimo announced a week ago he is staying in the Big Ten with Maryland, and the Terrapins will play at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall during the 2023-24 campaign. During his time at IU, Geronimo saw many opponents come to Bloomington and contend with the challenging road environment. “As a player at Indiana I always wondered what it was like to be a player on the other side at Assembly Hall,” Geronimo said on Friday…

Indiana added a promising young defensive lineman on Wednesday evening. Arizona State transfer Robby Harrison announced on his Twitter page he is headed to Bloomington. The 6-foot-4 and 325 pound Harrison has four years of eligibility remaining.  He was thought of as a high ceiling prospect and one of the strongest players in the Sun Devil program. Harrison enrolled at Arizona State in January, 2022.  He is listed by ASU as having played in three games during the 2022 season.  He did not register any stats. Indiana continues to cast a wider 2024 recruiting net after the early spring live recruiting periods. The Hoosiers offered center Patrick Ngongba II on Wednesday, the Virginia product announced on his Twitter page. According to the On3 Industry Ranking average, Ngongba is the No. 94 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 10 center. Ngongba attends Fairfax (Va.) Paul VI Catholic, one of the top high school programs in the country.  As with most IU targets from the area, assistant coach Kenya Hunter is the lead recruiter for the Hoosiers.
