Why is that a visit he wants to take? “I’ve watched Coach DeVries since he was at West Virginia and was looking at the way he played his guards over there and it’s definitely a school I want to see,” Rippey told TDH at the Adidas 3SSB Circuit in Rock Hill, S.C. Rippey said the IU staff has sent him a lot of film on Javon Small, who earned first-team All-Big 12 honors under DeVries…

Class of 2026 5-star forward Miikka Muurinen announced an offer from Indiana on Wednesday afternoon. We should know very soon how much life this recruitment has from an IU perspective.  Muurinen also says he’s announcing his top-seven schools this week. As we reported last month, Indiana has been involved with Muurinen for a while since the new staff took over.  Despite his height, he projects as more of a stretch-four or five face to the basket player in college. According to the industry average, Muurinen is the No. 8 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 1 power…

In today’s era of fast paced offense and high scoring games, it is rare to hold an opponent without a touchdown for an entire half. In 1910, the Indiana football team did it for an entire season. After compiling a 5-25-1 conference record all-time prior to 1910, not many saw this season coming. But behind three all-conference players, the Hoosiers were dominant all year long. A survey of the season’s results shows that IU outscored their opponents in 1910 by an aggregate score of 111-6, posting shutouts in five of their seven games. DePauw (W, 12-0) at Chicago (W, 6-0)…

This should come as no surprise. IU football coach Curt Cignetti is on the coldest seat in the Big Ten after winning the most games ever in an IU football season, and more than the three prior years combined. CBS Sports’ annual college football coaches’ hot seat rankings were expanded this year, as each coach was given a job security score of 0 to 5. The scores were assigned by nine of the site’s college football analysts. The average of those nine scores fell into one of these categories: 5 — Win or be fired 4-4.99 — Start improving now…

Is Jon Rothstein making the Curt Cignetti mistake? With a new coach and a roster full of productive mid-major players, no one was predicting what happened with IU football in 2024.  The Hoosiers were picked in the bottom third of the Big Ten by all of the national voices, and in the bottom couple spots by most. Will non-power conference players translate to the highest level of the game they asked? Of course you know what happened. When it comes to Indiana basketball in 2025-26, it seems some could be making a similar mistake, including well known national college basketball…

Curt Cignetti joked in December he had swept all of the national coach of the year honors except the Dodd Trophy, because you have to be with a team for more than one year to be eligible. At the start of year two in Bloomington, Cignetti is on the radar for the one that got away. Cignetti is one of 26 coaches on the preseason watch list for the 2025 Dodd Trophy, it was announced on Monday. Cignetti will coach against three of the other coaches on the watch list — Illinois’ Bret Bielema, Penn State’s James Franklin, and Oregon’s…
