Class of 2025 in-state shooting guard Braylon Mullins reported an offer from Indiana following his unofficial visit to Bloomington on Friday. Indiana joins Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati and Iowa as high majors who have offered and joined his rapidly growing recruitment in the last couple months. As a sophomore at Greenfield Central H.S., Mullins averaged 16.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game. He shot 58 percent from the field, including 47 percent from three. He converted at a 77 percent clip from the free throw line. Mullins projects as a wing player in college, but he’ll be…

As things stand at the moment, Indiana football is assured of having nine of its 12 games against Power Five opponents every year. If you’re trying to build a program that wins at least as much as it loses on a consistent basis, that’s plenty. But the news this week that IU was cancelling the rest of the Louisville series — the home-and-home part in 2024 and 2025 — was met by some with frustration and jeering. Culminating months of reporting by multiple outlets, the Indy Star reported this week IU plans to replace the 2024 Louisville game with an…
Trayce Jackson-Davis was one of the first to call Indiana’s quarterback competition last week. A simple Twitter post in the waning moments of his alma mater’s win over Indiana State sent a clear message: His brother Tayven Jackson should be IU’s QB1. 1 — TJD (@TrayceJackson) September 9, 2023 A couple days later Jackson-Davis used that same phone to contact his brother after Indiana coach Tom Allen informed Tayven he was IU’s full-time starter. Big brother didn’t say much, but he hit the mark. “He said ‘good job young king, don’t look back,'” Tayven relayed earlier this week. “My brother…
IU football coach Tom Allen broke his own rule on Thursday and revealed some midweek injury news. And it sounds like good news for the Hoosiers. Allen said wide receiver Cam Camper “had a good week of practice” this week after suffering an injury on Friday against Indiana State. Camper suffered a right knee injury near the end of the first half against the Sycamores. The senior wideout caught a pass from Brendan Sorsby and limped toward the sideline. The 6-foot-2 Camper received attention from IU’s medical staff and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. Camper had…
Class of 2024 guard Jaeden Mustaf is formally off the board. The top-40 prospect announced on Thursday he will attend Georgia Tech. Mustaf visited Indiana over the summer and the Hoosiers made his list of final schools. Meanwhile, the recruitment of 5-star forward Asa Newell could be drifting away from IU as well. ESPN college basketball recruiting analyst Paul Biancardi said in a Twitter post on Thursday Newell told him “he’s giving Texas, Gonzaga, Georgia, Auburn and Alabama a hard look.” Newell took multiple visits to IU in 2022 but unlike Montverde Academy teammates Liam McNeeley and Derik Queen, he…
Indiana has joined the turnover prop craze that has swept through college football over the last decade. And IU’s foray into a trend that includes chains, thrones, sunglasses, chainsaws, even a seatbelt, stands alone because of a unique connection within the program. And it’s the real deal. First of all, IU coach Tom Allen wants you to get the name right. When it comes to his defense, there is no such thing as a turnover. That’s too passive. “It’s a takeaway belt,” Allen said on Monday. “That’s the proper term.” The commitment to Indiana by a walk-on created national buzz…
Michael Penix, Jr. never looked comfortable when he threw three interceptions to open the 2021 season at Iowa. And he certainly didn’t look like the quarterback who had thrown for at least 320 yards in two straight games the year prior in wins over Michigan and Michigan State, and 491 after that against Ohio State. Penix was just nine months removed from a second torn ACL when he led Indiana into Iowa City two years ago. So it was reasonable to expect it may take some time for him to regain his rhythm. And Kinnick Stadium is no kind of…
Maybe it’s because he doesn’t run as fast as Jaylin Lucas, or make dazzling catches like Cam Camper. Whatever the case, Josh Henderson is a little bit the forgotten man at Indiana. And that’s despite the fact that he led the team with eight touchdowns from scrimmage in 2022. Quietly, Henderson was also Indiana’s second leading rusher (418 yards) a year ago, and their third leading receiver (274 yards). He did all that? Maybe it’s because when it comes to Henderson’s underappreciated productivity, he’s not flashy — he’s deferential. The Pennington, N.J. product was at it again in week two…
Indiana has offered 2025 5-star point guard Tyler Jackson from Baltimore, Md. According to the On3 Industry Average, Jackson is a 4-star prospect, and the No. 13 overall player in the 2025 class. He’s listed as the No. 1 combo guard according to that aggregation, and a 5-star by some individual outlets. Jackson plays in the same Team Thrill Under Armour AAU program as 2024 IU target Derik Queen. He played up a year with Queen at times during the summer, and he also played some on the Nike EYBL with Team Melo. Jackson knows Carmelo Anthony, a fellow Baltimore…
Chalk up Grace Berger’s first season as a pro as a success. On Tuesday, the former IU women’s basketball star earned WNBA AP All-Rookie team recognition after averaging 4.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 14.6 minutes per contest in 36 games played. Among rookies, Berger led all players in 3-point field goal percentage shooting 47.1 percent (16-of-34) and was sixth in assists per game. Berger also shot 84.0 percent from the free throw line and scored at least 10 points in five games this season. Berger was selected in April by the Indiana Fever with the No. 7 overall…
