Mike Woodson said in March he’s never played through the post as a basketball coach like he did with Trayce Jackson-Davis and Race Thompson. Somewhere over the course of his first two seasons as the IU head coach, the term “buddy ball” was coined in reference to the pair creating for each other on the offensive end. Woodson wasn’t sure what to expect this year as his roster went through a major overhaul during offseason. But it’s clear now — for better or worse, buddy ball is back. Through three games, center Kel’el Ware and power forward Malik Reneau are…

For the first time this year against a Power Five opponent, Indiana is favored to beat Michigan State on Saturday according to the oddsmakers.  They like the Hoosiers by 3.5 points as of late Thursday morning. Too little too late some would say, and technically they’d be right.  At 3-7 with two games remaining, IU can no longer play in a postseason game barring a situation where the Hoosiers finish 5-7 and there aren’t enough 6-6 teams to play in the 41 bowl games. While the Hoosiers are likely just 10 days away from ending a third-straight disappointing season, Michigan…

You could see it coming with how Mike Woodson was talking about him before the season. And without a doubt, IU basketball freshman guard Gabe Cupps has ascended the depth chart since arriving on campus in June. The Centerville, Ohio product came into IU’s first exhibition as part of a second wave of subs over eight minutes into the game.  He came…

But the Allen era at Indiana has been met with dramatic, smack you in the face kind of change, right at the moment when he seemed to have Indiana headed in the right direction. If you know anything about the history if IU football, the pattern should…

It’s early, but the product Indiana is putting on the floor is downright concerning coming out of the 2023-24 gate. The Hoosiers fell behind national sub-300 Army 19-11 early and were not able to build more than a five point lead until midway through the second half.  The resilient Black Knights forced a tie at 58 with less than four minutes to play before IU went on a 14-3 run to finally pull away for good. Let’s take a deeper look at how the Hoosiers won 72-64 with another edition of The Report Card. Indiana (2-0) will next play Wright…
