Indiana will conclude their 2024-25 nonconference slate with a home game against Winthrop during the week between Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. The Sunday, Dec. 29 contest will take place at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, with the tip-time still to be announced. According to Bart Torvik’s preseason rankings, Winthrop is in the middle-of-the-pack nationally, coming in at No. 174 out of 364 teams.  Torvik’s model likes Winthrop’s offense (No.  145) better than their defense (No. 214). IU alumna Lilly King has a chance to make history Monday in the 100-meter breaststroke. On Sunday in Paris, the Evansville, Ind. product advanced to the final for her third straight Olympic Games. With a top-three performance, King would become the first American to capture three Olympic medals in the 100 breast. A Friday court filing has revealed the anticipated terms of the NCAA’s massive antitrust lawsuits settlement. The new details outline how past athletes will share $2.78 billion in damages, a new system for revenue sharing, and new roster limits for multiple college sports, and other items. The judge is expected to review the proposed settlement terms for the next several weeks and decide whether to accept them on a preliminary basis over the next 1-2 months. Indiana is going to enter fall camp with a healthy football team. The Hoosiers were shorthanded in the spring, especially on the defensive side of the ball, a factor that contributed to the offense having a bit of edge in the spring game.
