Kyle Schwarber is back for his 11th season in the majors.  He’s coming off a three-year stretch with 38 or more home runs each season. Indiana is one of five finalists for class of 2026 quarterback Brodie McWhorter, he announced this week. The Kingston, Ga. product is down to Auburn, Colorado, Indiana, Mississippi State and Wisconsin. According to the On3 Industry Average, McWhorter is a 3-star quarterback, and the No. 34 overall QB in the 2026 class.  Rivals has McWhorter pegged as a 4-star, and the No. 14 quarterback. Guard Kanaan Carlyle is in the transfer portal based on multiple Wednesday afternoon reports. The Georgia native began the season as a starter but soon lost that role. For the season Carlyle made six starts in 25 games played and averaged 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game.  He struggled to make shots throughout the season and produced 28.9/24.3/42.9 shooting splits. Carlyle transferred to IU from Stanford a year ago.  There he was named to the All-Pac-12 Freshman Team and averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. Indiana fans will be seeing more of Gabe Cupps in the years to come. He’s staying in the Big Ten. After choosing IU over Ohio State a few years ago, Cupps is returning to his home state to play for the Buckeyes, he announced on Wednesday afternoon. A product of Dayton, Ohio, and former Ohio Mr. Basketball, Cupps entered the transfer portal last week after two seasons at Indiana.  It didn’t take him long to find a new home. Guard Myles Rice is entering the transfer portal, according to Wednesday morning reports. After transferring in from Washington State, Rice played one season in Bloomington. Rice appeared in all 32 games and made 25 starts for IU in 2024-25.  He was one of four Hoosiers to appear in all 32 games. After arriving in Bloomington with great promise, Rice had an up-and-down season.   He averaged 10.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.  Rice shot 41.2% (112-of-272) from the floor, 32.5% (27-of-83) from the 3-point line, and 81.8% (72-of-88) from the free throw line.  He opened the…

According to multiple reports, DePaul transfer guard Conor Enright will visit Indiana. On3’s Joe Tipton appears to have been the first to report the news. Sam Kayser of League Ready says the visit will be April 1-2. Both outlets indicate Enright is also considering a visit to Iowa. Before transferring to DePaul, Enright previously played for new IU basketball coach Darian DeVries at Drake. As a junior at DePaul, the 6-foot-2 Enright averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game this season. Junior guard Lexus Bargesser is in the transfer portal, according to a report by On3. Bargesser played in 29 games and averaged 3.4 points per game in 17.4 minutes for Indiana this season. Over three years at IU, she scored 294 points, pulled down 178 rebounds, and dished out 169 assists for the Hoosiers.  She played in 90 games and shot 35.9% from the field overall, including 31.6% from three. Redshirt freshman guard Jakai Newton has entered the transfer portal, he announced Monday evening. Newton was Mike Woodson’s first high school commit, but he was never able to make a meaningful impact during two seasons in Bloomington. The Georgia native played in four games and averaged 1.5 points per appearance in 2024-25. Newton dealt with multiple injuries during the season and had midseason surgery.  He also missed the entire 2023-24 season due to an injury.
