Indiana doesn’t have many starting spots left open after its 6-2 season in 2020, thanks largely to the fact that the season didn’t cause anyone to expend a year of eligibility and players who would have normally been forced to move on had the option to stay. Of the 22 positions on the offensive and defensive depth charts, they have starters back at 17 positions. Of the five that are open, there are obvious heirs for most of them. They lost slot wide receiver Whop Philyor to the NFL and the Minnesota Vikings, but they gained D.J. Matthews, a transfer…

Indiana basketball is planning an international trip to the Bahamas for a series of exhibitions beginning around August 10. It will be Indiana’s first foreign trip since the Hoosiers went to Montreal in 2014. Jeff Rabjohns of 247Sports.com reported it first. The event will be held in the Atlantis resort. The event is expected to be open to the public. Coaches tend to use foreign tours as a way to get an early start on building team chemistry when they have a significant amount of roster turnover because it allows teams 10 practices long before they are allowed to have…

Let’s be honest, we’re flying a little blind here. Indiana played it safe throughout spring practice while COVID-19 vaccinations were still making their way from higher-risk people to the general population and the Hoosiers ultimately decided not to have a spring game that would showcase the progress made in the course of the spring period. So when we discuss who might be ready to make a leap from second or third string or from someone else’s roster to prominence in 2021, we’re mostly going off what we’ve heard from coaches and not what we’ve seen. But Indiana made enough assistant…

The Hoosiers entered a three-game series at Michigan May 14-16 in first place in the Big Ten with bracket projections putting them safely in the tournament as a regional No. 2 seed. However, Indiana lost two out of…
