A look at the latest NBA Draft projections for Hood-Schifino and Jackson-Davis

Indiana hasn’t had any players selected in the NBA Draft since Romeo Langford in 2019, but that will almost certainly change in June.

Both Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis have trended favorably over the last few months, and both are now widely expected to be chosen on June 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Hood-Schifino is a borderline lottery pick, and almost certain to go in the first round.  Here’s what ESPN’s Jonathan Givony said about the one-and-done guard in an updated draft projection released on Wednesday.

“He’s likely not ready to be handed the keys to an NBA offense anytime soon considering the huge swings in effectiveness we saw this season, but his upside is clearly significant for a team that can afford to be patient with his development,” Givony wrote this week.

Givony cited Hood-Schifino’s live-dribble passing, shot-making and all-around aggressiveness as key components to what makes him an attractive first round prospect.

Meanwhile Jackson-Davis has proven he could move up the draft boards significantly without showing in games that he can make perimeter shots.  Jackson-Davis’ improved ability to handle the ball and pass, along with his elite athleticism and massive rebounding numbers have him on the fringe of the first round.

Here are five updated projections in the last two weeks:

    ESPN (updated 4/12)

    Jalen Hood-Schifino – Atlanta, No. 15

    Trayce Jackson-Davis – San Antonio, No. 33

    CBS Sports (updated 4/11)

    Jalen Hood-Schifino – No. 13

    Trayce Jackson-Davis – No. 31

(Note:  CBS posted player rankings rather than an actual mock draft)

    Sporting News (updated 4/4)

    Jalen Hood-Schifino – Toronto, No. 14

    Trayce Jackson-Davis – Charlotte, No. 28

    Bleacher Report (updated 4/3)

    Jalen Hood-Schifino – Brooklyn, No. 21

    Trayce Jackson-Davis – San Antonio, No. 33

    The Athletic (updated 3/28)

    Jalen Hood-Schifino – New Orleans, No. 13

    Trayce Jackson-Davis – Washington, No. 39
