Going back to the start of the 2024-25 season, careful observers of IU women’s basketball may have noticed there was something different about assistant coach Rhet Wierzba.
For Wierzba, there was a lot different, as he received a brain cancer diagnosis in June 2024, and has been in an ongoing battle since — all while gutting it out on the sidelines and at practice with the team.
On Wednesday Wierzba and the IU women’s program opened up about the last 18 months via a short documentary on the Big Ten Network. You can watch it below.
