YouTube TV has reached a short-term deal with FOX, meaning IU football fans who utilize the streaming service will be able to watch the Hoosiers face Old Dominion on Saturday.
YouTube TV and FOX agreed to a short-term deal before their Wednesday deadline of 5 p.m. ET to keep FOX, as well as other networks such as Big Ten Network, and FS1 on the platform. The agreement is good news for IU fans as the Hoosiers’ season-opening game against Old Dominion is set to air on FS1.
“We’ve reached a short-term extension with Fox to avoid service disruption for YouTube TV subscribers while we work on a new agreement,” YouTube TV shared in a post on X. “We’re committed to advocating on behalf of our members and will keep you posted on our progress.”
The reprieve is only momentary, as neither Fox nor YouTube clarified how long the “short-term” extension is good for.
Indiana’s game vs. Old Dominion was one of several that could have been impacted by a YouTube TV blackout of Fox channels. Some of the other notable games included Ohio State vs. Texas, Ball State at Purdue, Auburn at Baylor, Utah at UCLA, and others.
