New Albany H.S. (New Albany, Ind.) rising sophomore Noah Washington has an early claim to being one of the top in-state players in his class.
And he’s a clear 2028 name to know for the Hoosiers.
The 6-foot-5 Washington helped the Bulldogs go 19-5 as a freshman in 2024-25. They reached the sectional finals while he averaged 14.5 points per game in his first year of high school. They lost to eventual 4A state champion Jeffersonville.
There’s not much in the way of rankings to this point for the 2028 class, but look for Washington to be in the conversation for national top-25, and a potential 5-star as things develop.
Washington plays for Indiana Elite on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit this spring and summer. There he’s averaging 16.1 points per game while making 2.5 threes per contest. A high-level scoring combo guard, he’s a very good shooter who is also highly effective at getting to open spots and finishing off the bounce. Washington makes the game look effortless for his age.
He was also invited to the 2025 spring Team USA basketball U16 training camp.
Washington’s New Albany team played three games Saturday at IU’s team camp in Cook Hall and Assembly Hall. The promising guard had the full attention of the IU staff, with head coach Darian DeVries and all of his assistants gathering to watch him play. Washington and his family had a lengthy conversation with DeVries and the IU assistants at the conclusion of their final game of the team camp.
Here are some spring highlights of Washington:
