Based on Indiana’s current roster, the Hoosiers will once again have a major reconstruction project ahead of them to prepare for the 2025-26 season.  As of this writing, IU will have at least six scholarships available as Trey Galloway, Anthony Leal, Oumar Ballo and Luke Goode are all expected to be out of eligibility.

Building the 2025-26 team might follow a different course, as the Indiana staff is a strong contender for a number of prospects in the class of 2025.  That includes one of the better in-state classes in several years.

As the focus pivots this spring and summer from the transfer portal to the high school class of 2025, who are the main players IU will be pursuing?

Here’s our assessment of the main names to know, starting with an in-state trio and fanning out.  Click on each player’s name for all of our coverage, and stay tuned for more this spring and summer.

    • Jalen Haralson

    Height: 6-6
    Position: Combo guard/wing
School/Hometown: La Lumiere / Fishers, Ind.
    AAU Team:  Indy Heat (Nike)
Competition: Auburn, Duke, Gonzaga, Kansas, Michigan St., Missouri, Notre Dame, and Purdue
    Spring Stats: 17 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 22.2 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking: No. 11 (5-star)

TDH Comment:  Haralson has been a primary target of IU before he played a high school game.  He’s since become a high profile national recruit, but the Hoosiers are still a top contender.

    • Trent Sisley

    Image

    Height: 6-7
Position: Small forward / combo forward
School/Hometown: Heritage Hills H.S. / Santa Claus, Ind.
    AAU Team:  Indiana Elite (Adidas)
Competition:  Purdue, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Louisville
    Spring Stats: 13.8 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 58.3 FG%, 42.9 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking: No. 76 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  Like Haralson, IU offered Sisley before his first high school game, and he’s been a priority recruiting target since.  While they’re legit contenders, the Hoosiers have some serious Midwest competition to stave off.

    • Braylon Mullins

    Height: 6-5
    Position: Shooting guard
School: Greenfield Central / Greenfield, Ind.
    AAU Team:  Indiana Elite (Adidas)
Competition:  Notre Dame, Michigan, Purdue, Cincinnati
    Spring Stats:  20 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 2.3 apg, 51 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 92 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  With a red-hot start to his spring, Mullins has become one of the top-risers in the 2025 class.  IU has as good of a chance as anyone, but the competition is intensifying.

    • Malachi Moreno

    Height:  7-0
    Position: Center
School / Hometown:  Great Crossing H.S. / Georgetown, Ky.
    AAU Team:  Indiana Elite (Adidas)
Competition:  Kentucky, Arkansas, Iowa, Auburn, Louisville
    Spring Stats: 14.3 points, 8.8 rpg, 2.3 bpg, 64.8 FG%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 39 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  Moreno has made multiple visits to IU, and the Hoosiers have been a legit contender for a while.  Kentucky has been a wildcard in this recruitment, and the effect of coaching change there remains to be seen.

    • Bryson Tiller

    Height: 6-9
    Position:  Power forward
School / Hometown:  Overtime Elite / Atlanta, Ga.
    AAU Team:  Atlanta Xpress (UAA)
Competition:  Kansas, Providence, Auburn, Georgia Tech
Spring Stats:  12.2 ppg, 9.4 rpg, and 1.6 bpg (OTE stats)
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 9 (5-star)

TDH Comment:  Tiller visited IU in December.  He considered a reclass to 2024 but is now firmly in 2025.  Indiana appears to be one of his top contenders at this point.

    • Trey McKenney

    Height: 6-5
    Position: Combo guard
School / Hometown: St. Mary’s / Flint, Mich.
    AAU Team:  The Family (Nike)
Competition:  Michigan, Michigan State, Georgetown, Rutgers
    Spring Stats: 16.8 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2 apg, 43.5 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 12 (5-star)

TDH Comment:  IU had some early momentum in McKenney’s recruitment.  He’s been on campus a couple times.  The Hoosiers need to get him back for a senior year official visit to stay on the top tier.

    • Nate Ament

    Height: 6-9
    Position:  Wing/stretch-four
School / Hometown: Highland H.S. / Warrenton, Va.
AAU Team:  Team Loaded Virginia (Adidas)
Competition: Duke, Michigan, Kentucky, Virginia, Virginia Tech
    Spring Stats: 12.8 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 39.4 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 15 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  Ament is expected to take a visit to Indiana in the near-term.  That would be a significant development and solidify the Hoosiers as a top-tier contender.

    • Mikel Brown

    Height: 6-3
    Position: Point guard
School / Hometown: Overtime Elite / Orlando, Fla.
AAU Team:  Team Loaded North Carolina (Adidas)
    Competition:  Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU
    Spring Stats:  22.1 ppg, 3.8 apg, 41.3 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 14 (5-star)

TDH Comment:  Brown took a visit to IU in February.  Probably the top point guard on their board, if they can get him back for a senior year official visit, they’ll solidify themselves as one of his top schools.

    • Meleek Thomas

    Height:  6-3
    Position:  Combo guard
School / Hometown:  Lincoln Park / Pittsburgh, Pa.
    AAU Team: New Heights (Nike)
Competition: UConn, Kentucky, Miami, Kansas State, Kansas, Auburn, Michigan, Villanova, Duke, Pittsburgh, and Villanova.
    Spring Stats:  21.6 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2 apg, 36 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 6 (5-star)

TDH Comment:  Another elite guard who IU had some early momentum with, Thomas has said recently he’s eyeing another visit to Bloomington.  If he makes a return trip, the Hoosiers would have a chance in an intense battle.

    • Kiyan Anthony

    Height:  6-4
    Position: Shooting guard
School / Hometown:  Long Island Lutheran / Middle Village, N.Y.
    AAU Team: Team Melo (Nike)
    Competition:  Syracuse, Florida State, Michigan
    Spring Stats: 19 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 30 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 38 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  Anthony is connected to Mike Woodson through his father Carmelo, who played for the IU head coach when he was leading the Knicks.  It has long been mentioned Anthony is expected to visit Indiana at some point.

    • Darius Adams

    Height:  6-4
    Position:  Shooting guard
School / Hometown:  La Lumiere / Manasquan, N.J.
    AAU Team:  PSA Cardinals (Nike)
Competition:  Tennessee, Michigan State, Notre Dame,
    Spring Stats:   10.8 ppg, 33.3 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 20 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  A teammate of Haralson at La Lumiere, Adams visited IU in September.  The IU staff has been up to Adams at La Lumiere as well.

    • Chance Mallory

    Height: 5-10
    Position:  Point guard
School / Hometown:  St. Anne’s Belfield / Charlottesville, Va.
    AAU Team:  Team Thrill (UAA)
Competition:  Virginia, Maryland, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Villanova
    Spring Stats: 23.2 ppg, 3.8 apg, 3.5 rpg, 33 3P%
    On3 Industry Ranking:  No. 68 (4-star)

TDH Comment:  There’s intense local competition for the tough, physical guard.  We’ll see if the Hoosiers can get him to come on a visit this summer.
