    MIKE WOODSON COMMENTS

“We’ve got the best fans in college basketball.”

“I see an opportunity to win a Big Ten title and a national title.”

“We’ve got a lot of work to do, but I love our team.”

“I just think we’re a deeper basketball team than we’ve been in the past.  I’ve gotta do my job in putting it all together.”

“Our freshman (Bryson) Tucker.  I’ve gotta mention this guy.  He’s the only freshman we have on our roster.  But he doesn’t play like a freshman.  I love everything about him.”

“All the guys that returned, you have no idea how much that means to me and the fan base.”

“Last season was very disappointing…I made it clear to these guys that we have to get better.”

On what he learned from Bob Knight — “The passion for the game, the passion for doing the right thing.”

“I like everything about our football team.  Coach Cignetti is doing a hell of job.  And I can’t say enough for Teri Moren and her team.  She’s a hell of a coach and they do things the right way.”

    TERI MOREN COMMENTS

Moren came out to a John Mellencamp song.  Both are from Seymour, Ind.  A bronze statue of Mellencamp was unveiled on campus Friday.

Here are some of her comments to crowd.

“Our sights are set high, our expectations for this program are always set high, that’s the way it’ll always be.”

“This has become one of the most difficult places in the country to play.  I want to see those rafters filled every single night.”

“This is the best place to be a student athlete.”

    INTRODUCTIONS

Women’s basketball sophomore Sharnecce Currie-Jelks came out with her baby daughter.  More on that story here.

Anthony Leal came out to the song “Take it Easy” by the Eagles.  Almost seems like a play on his “chill” comment at Senior Day.

    Malik Reneau is wearing glasses.
