Shay Ciezki’s historic season has earned her All-American honors.
The Indiana guard was named an All-America honorable mention by the USBWA on Tuesday. She’s IU’s third-ever All-American selection, along with Grace Berger and Mackenzie Holmes.
Ciezki recorded Indiana’s first-ever 50-40-90 season, shooting at least 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range, and 90 percent at the foul line. The senior finished 52.6 percent from the floor, 44.6 percent from beyond the arc, and 90.8 percent on free throws.
Additionally, Ciezki became just the second-ever NCAA Division I women’s basketball player to join that elusive 50-40-90 club while averaging at least 20 points per game. The Buffalo, N.Y. native scored 23.2 points per game, an IU single-season record. Her 708 total points rank second in program history behind Tyra Buss.
