Go ahead and relish IU football’s 2025 national championship as long as you wish.
If you’re a long suffering fan, you’ve earned it.
But the program has officially turned the page to the 2026 season and the incredible opportunity it presents — the chance to repeat as national champions.
On Monday evening IU posted a social media video of the 2026 team working out at Mellencamp Pavilion and in the weight room under the direction of new strength and conditioning leader Tyson Brown.

In the video you can see new leaders emerging, including defensive tackle Tyrique Tucker, and wide receiver Charlie Becker.
Just three weeks removed from its last game, the team is in winter conditioning mode right now.
Soon the calendar will turn to spring practice, and for some, the NFL Draft.
Indiana has not formally announced its spring schedule, but a few key dates have emerged.
Head coach Curt Cignetti said in a recent interview he expects the spring game to be played on the Thursday before Little 500 weekend. That would be April 23. Look for IU to follow last year’s model, with just a half of live football.
The team is likely to begin spring practice in late March. As Cignetti has said on multiple occasions, Indiana is unlikely to utilize all of their allotted practices, and they probably won’t tackle in the spring except for the spring game.
Another key date is the program’s Pro Day, when the NFL is invited to Bloomington to watch former players workout. Think of it as an on campus combine.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the IU Pro Day will be April 1. Given the large number of players from the 2025 IU team with NFL aspirations, this Pro Day should be heavily attended by both former players and representatives from NFL teams.
Heisman Trophy winner and anticipated No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza said last week he plans to throw at the IU Pro Day.
We’ll post more information when these dates and attendees are confirmed.
The Hoosiers will start fall camp in late July/early August, and the 2026 season kicks off in under seven months. Here’s the full 2026 schedule, featuring eight home games:
