Below we took a look at Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades, notes and snap counts from Indiana’s week nine game against UCLA — a dominant 56-6 win to remain perfect on the season.

The Hoosiers are No. 1 overall at PFF through seven games.  They are tied for the No. 1 offense in the nation with Ohio State, and they have the No. 2 defense behind Texas Tech.

Next up for Indiana (8-0, 5-0) is a trip to Maryland (4-3, 1-3) for a 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday kickoff (CBS).

    OFFENSIVE STANDOUTS

Left tackle Carter Smith had the best overall grade on the offense with the top pass blocking grade on the team.  He had the 13th best pass blocking grade in the country, and on the season he has the second best pass blocking grade in the nation among linemen with 200 snaps.

Among offensive linemen Smith also had the best run blocking grade.  He is putting together a first team All-Big Ten and perhaps All-American resume.

The offensive line protected the quarterback all day, only allowing six UCLA pressures and no sacks.  The receivers had no drops.

Wideout Charlie Becker had the best run blocking grade on the team among all players, and Becker also had the best receiving grade.  That mark was heavily influenced by a very impressive contested catch.  E.J. Williams wasn’t far behind Becker.  He caught 5 of 7 targets and produced 44 yards after catch.

The Mendoza brothers had the top two rushing grades on the team.   They combined for 83 yards, 2 TDs, 46 yards after contact, and 4 missed tackles forced.  Kaelon Black and Roman Hemby also received good marks.  Hemby especially stands out with 5 missed tackles forced and 58 yards after contact.

    DEFENSIVE STANDOUTS

Rover Devan Boykin had the top overall grade on the defense, and he had the best pass coverage and pass rush grades on the team and earned a good tackling mark as well.  He had two QB pressures in five pass rush snaps.  He was targeted five times, allowed just one completion and came up with an interception.  And Boykin missed no tackles on the day.

Linebacker Isaiah Jones had the top run defense grade on the team.  In total he had eight tackles with no misses and he forced a fumble.  Jones also broke up a pass.  Safety Louis Moore had the top tackling grade on the team.  He officially had seven tackles, and PFF says he had no misses.

As a team Indiana produced an incredible 32 quarterback pressures on 34 drop backs.  Stephen Daley led the way with 7, while Mikail Kamara had 6.  IU had 22 hurries, 5 hits and 5 sacks for the game.  Despite a relatively quiet season, Kamara leads IU with 28 QB pressures.

Cornerback D’Angelo Ponds was right behind Boykin for coverage grades.  Ponds was only targeted three times and he allowed no receptions.  He broke up two of the passes.
