Indiana took a major step towards rebuilding its running back room for 2025 with a commitment from UAB transfer Lee Beebe, Jr.

That news was first reported by On3.

Beebe was named third-team All-AAC following the 2024 season.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2024, the 5-foot-10 and 220-pounder rushed 166 times for 884 yards and seven touchdowns (5.3 YPC).  The versatile back added 30 catches for 219 yards and led the team with 1,103 all-purpose yards.  Beebe posted a career-high 161 rushing yards against Rice.

According to PFF, 648 of Beebe’s yards came after contact, and he forced 39 missed tackles on the season.  His total yards after contact ranked No. 42 across all of FBS.  He fumbled three times and dropped five passes on 42 targets.

In 2023, Beebe had 52 carries for 360 yards and four touchdowns, good for an average of 6.9 yards per carry.

A product of Montgomery, Ala., Beebe appeared in one game in 2022 and has two years of eligibility remaining.

The news comes on the heels of an official visit to Indiana this week by Beebe.

Indiana is losing running backs Justice Ellison and Ty Son Lawton to eligibility following the 2024 season.  Elijah Green is departing via the transfer portal.  Beebe will join Kaelon Black, Khobie Martin and Sean Cuono as the scholarship backs.  Given those numbers, Curt Cignetti and staff are almost certainly still in the market for running backs.

Beebe has a younger brother, Solomon Beebe, who was a freshman at UAB in 2024.
