Indiana football has added yet another recruit to its growing class of 2024.

Athlete Kameron Courtney committed to the Hoosiers on Saturday, as he announced on social media.

    100% COMMITTED‼️ @CoachAllenIU @MattGuerrieri @ChadWilt @CoachEddie2 @BruceSJohnson @thomas_allen44 @RivalsFriedman @EvanGWatkins247 @WillVapreps @MohrRecruiting @SteezoDsgn pic.twitter.com/843EB8Mfvs

    — Kameron Courtney (@KameronCourtne3) July 15, 2023

Courtney, who stands 6-foot, 190 pounds, is a Woodbridge, Va. native. He mostly plays wide receiver on offense, but also contributes as a rusher, kick returner, and defensive playmaker for Freedom High School.  As a junior he compiled 847 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns, and added 156 rushing yards and three more scores.  On defense Courtney had 61 tackles, five interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.  He also added two kickoff return touchdowns.

This is the 17th commitment IU has landed in the class of 2024, and the second listed as an athlete. He’s unranked by 247Sports Composite, but 247Sports’ own rankings have Courtney as a three-star recruit and the No. 99 overall athlete in the class.

Courtney chose IU over several other power five offers from Maryland, Duke, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Pitt. He also held offers from Appalachian State, James Madison, Kent State, and Temple, among others.
