The Indiana football program and head coach Curt Cignetti formally announced 31 newcomers have joined the program on campus to start the spring semester.

The new group includes 17 transfers and 14 freshmen who will participate in winter conditioning and spring practice. Seven additional freshmen will join the program in the summer, for a total of 38 new additions for the 2025 season thus far.  More players could be added when the transfer portal reopens in the spring.

In all, IU signed 19 players on offense, 17 on defense and two specialists. Indiana’s defense added eight defensive backs, seven defensive linemen and two linebackers, while the Hoosier offense onboarded five offensive linemen, five wide receivers, four tight ends, three running backs and two quarterbacks. Special teams added one kicker and one punter.

Each of the 17 transfers arrive from the FBS level, with ten from Power 4 programs and seven from Group of Five teams. Ten of the transfers come on the offensive side of the football, five are on the defensive side of the ball and two are specialists.

The signees will arrive in Bloomington from 18 different states and Australia. Five are from Indiana, while four each arrive from Florida and Ohio. Three come from both Illinois and Georgia, while two apiece are from Maryland, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Alabama, California, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nebraska, and Pennsylvania saw one signee each. Punter Mitch McCarthy arrives from the mainland of Australia via UCF.
