If Indiana is going to compete with Ohio State in the Big Ten, it would be helpful to beat the Buckeyes for some recruits from time-to-time.
Enter class of 2026 quarterback Luke Fahey. A Big Ten battle is shaping up for the coveted signal-caller.
The 6-foot-1 and 193-pound Fahey attends Mission Viejo H.S. in Mission Viejo, Calif. According to the average of the national recruiting sites, he is a 4-star prospect in the 2026 class. He’s the No. 23 QB in the class, and the No. 377 overall player.
Like IU coach Curt Cignetti, Fahey wins. In 2024, Fahey completed 76.2% of his passes for 1,638 yards, with 17 touchdowns, and zero interceptions, leading Mission Viejo to a California state championship.
Fahey took an official visit to Indiana over the weekend. He gave positive reviews from his time in Bloomington.
“Coach Cig is a great coach and talking to him had me excited and wanting to get out there and play football,” he told On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Indiana is competing primarily against Ohio State, Stanford and Oregon for Fahey. According to multiple reports, he recently took a visit to Stanford, has an official visit to Ohio State later this month, and may visit Oregon.
But Ohio State seems to be the real wildcard here.
According to Rivals’ national reporter Adam Gorney, the Buckeyes are a dream school, and their involvement is significant.
If OSU makes Fahey their priority QB in the class they could be hard to beat. And that’s exactly the kind of battles the Hoosiers need to start winning.
