Let’s continue our look back at each of Indiana’s 16 wins in 2025 via BTN’s 60 minute condensed versions of each game. Below is game 10 at Penn State.
Fueled by a first half Aiden Fisher fumble recovery, and a second half Fisher interception, Indiana led 20-7 in the third quarter. But the Nittany Lions reeled off 17 straight to take a 24-20 lead, putting IU’s perfect season in serious jeopardy.
Indiana trailed by four with 1:51 left in the game and no timeouts remaining. Fernando Mendoza was sacked on the first play but then the Hoosiers completed a 10 play, 80 yard drive ending in a game-winning touchdown pass to Omar Cooper, Jr., who completed an amazing toe tap in the back end of the end zone. Mendoza completed 5 of 8 passes for 80 yards on the final drive.
IU coach Curt Cignetti would later say this was the first time he felt he might have a team of destiny.
