    FINAL: Indiana 90 – Washington 80

    Image

    SECOND HALF

IU up 81-72 with 3:31 left.

    • Another cold second half for Indiana overall. The Hoosiers are 11-for-28 in this half and 6-of-16 from beyond the arc.
    • Both teams passed the seven-foul mark moving forward. Washington is in the double-bonus the rest of the way.
    • Very interested to see how this one plays out. Indiana hasn’t really had a game like this up to this point, where they’re ahead, but the opposition is looming. Going to come down to who can make plays, create shots, etc.

Indiana up 76-63 with 7:59 left to play.

    • DeVries is opting to get Lamar Wilkerson the ball down the stretch. He’s had a slow shooting night, at just 4-of-12 from the field, but has created some good looks for himself and others.
    • Tayton Conerway leads all scorers with 20, and is still perfect from the field. Wilkerson behind him with 12, Enright with 11, and Sisley with 10.

Hoosiers lead 69-57 with 11:58 to go.

    • Trent Sisley has sparked some life into Indiana’s offense. He’s made IU’s last four buckets, including two from beyond the arc.
    • Hoosiers have to deal with foul trouble, though, even though some of the calls were questionable at best. Washington will be shooting in the bonus the rest of the way out.

Indiana’s lead down to 54-50. 15:38 left to play.

    • Another sluggish start to the half for the Hoosiers. They’ve started 1-of-9 from the field. Tucker DeVries has also picked up all three of his fouls in about four minutes.
    • Washington is still letting Conor Enright put up all the threes he wants, and he’s yet to hit from beyond the arc this half. Certainly, it isn’t his strong suit, but he’s hit them in this game already.

    HALFTIME: Indiana 52 – Washington 40

    FIRST HALF

Indiana up 46-38 with 3:42 to go in the half.

    • Conor Enright is now into double figures with 11. Pulled off a tough finish after a drive on Desmond Claude, and converted an and-1. Claude has to go to the bench with three fouls.
    • Indiana has been very efficient on the offensive end as a team. They converted their first turnover in that last segment and are shooting 68 percent from the field. A few stops heading into halftime could stretch their lead.

Hoosiers lead 37-33 with 6:51 to go.

    • Slow start for Lamar Wilkerson, who went into the break with a few great games. So far, he’s 0-for-4 from the field, but going to the line for two heading out of the timeout.
    • Tayton Conerway has been the bright spot for Indiana offensively. He’s up to 16 points and is a perfect 5-5 from the field. Four of those have been 3s.

IU is perfect from their last six from the field. They force a timeout with a 35-27 lead with 9:19 left.

Indiana leads 27-24 with 11:02 in the half.

    • Washington is having a hard time picking up on some pin-down screens, as Indiana has capitalized with a few buckets. Nick Dorn with four quick points off the bench, and Reed Bailey with eight.
    • Bryson Tucker was met with a few stray boos, but nothing too substantial. Crowd energy could use some pep overall.

All knotted up at 15 heading into the first media timeout. 15:48 left in the half.

    • Welp, not a lot of defense being played here in the Hall. Indiana is perfect from the field to start, and Washington is six of eight.
    • All of Indiana’s buckets have come from beyond the arc, but not from players you would initially expect. Tayton Conerway has three of them, and Conor Enright made the other two.

    PREGAME NOTES

    • Jason Drake and Josh Harris remain OUT. Drake continues to participate in a chunk of pregame warmups. Could see him very soon.
    • Forgive me, but I missed out on mentioning Bryson Tucker in our game day essentials. The former Hoosier is averaging 6.1 ppg while shooting around 40% from the field. Should see some minutes from him tonight.
    • Starters for IU: Conerway, Enright, Wilkerson, DeVries, Alexis
