LOS ANGELES — Indiana lost to USC Tuesday evening at Galen Center by a final score of 81-75.

The three keys to the game, highlights and final stats are below.

USC led 35-30 at halftime.  The Hoosiers were led in the game by Lamar Wilkerson with 33 points.

Indiana (15-8, 6-6) returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Wisconsin.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Nobody but Lamar.  Indiana guard Lamar Wilkerson had a huge game with 33 points.  But no one else had a productive evening in the scoring column.  In fact, Wilkerson was the only IU player who scored in double figures.  He made 11 of 20 shots.  The rest of the team made just 15 of 43 attempts (34.8%).  Nick Dorn and Tucker DeVries combined to shoot just 3 of 20 from three.

    2. USC dominates the glass.  IU appeared to be a half step slow throughout much of the game, and it showed up in the rebounding numbers.  The Trojans won the overall rebounding battle 40-25. The Hoosiers struggled to keep USC off the offensive glass, especially in the first half.  USC had 11 offensive rebounds and scored 15 second chance points for the game.

    3. Poor shooting.  Indiana shot the ball like a tired team playing at 10 o’clock at night on the back half of a West Coast road trip.  The Hoosiers made just 41.3% of their shots overall, and 28.6% from three.  The one place they did shoot the ball well was the free throw line.  IU made 13 of 16 at the stripe, but they didn’t get nearly as many attempts there as USC’s 31.
