As Indiana shows interest in transfer portal prospects we’ll provide a quick profile with our transfer portal names to know series.

Of course we’ll cover prospects more if things progress beyond initial interest.

Next up is 6-foot-3 Stanford transfer guard Kanaan Carlyle.

Carlyle earned honorable mention All-Pac-12 Freshman Team honors in 2024. The guard from Atlanta averaged 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists on the season, and 12.5 points per night in Pac-12 play.

A combo guard, Carlyle shot 38.6% from the field overall, and 32% from three on 100 attempts.

Carlyle showed flashes of brilliance as a freshman.  He played a key role in Stanford’s upset of then-No. 4 Arizona on New Year’s Eve, 100-82, with 29 points. He would end up being named the Associated Press National Player of the Week. Carlyle also scored a career-high 31 points against Washington State, breaking the program’s freshman record for scoring in a single game.

Carlyle is connected to IU assistant coach Yasir Rosemond.  He played his first three high school seasons at Milton H.S., and joined Overtime Elite for his senior season. A teammate of Ohio State guard Bruce Thornton, he helped lead Milton to a Georgia state championship as a sophomore in 2021.

He was a 4-star recruit, and the No. 50 overall player in the 2023 class according to the On3 Industry Average.

Carlyle originally picked Stanford over Baylor and Auburn.  He should have three years of eligibility remaining.  His freshman season highlights are below.
