IU Basketball Recruiting Video: Class of 2021 Five Star Point Guard Khristian Lander

Make no mistake about it, class of 2021 Evansville point guard Khristian Lander is the top recruiting target on the IU basketball board, irrespective of the class.

The 6-foot-3 Lander averaged 22 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.2 steals per game as a sophomore at F.J. Reitz High School.  He shot 37% from the three-point range and 79% from the foul line.

But more than numbers, it’s when you see Lander play that you come to appreciate what puts him on another level.

We wrote this assessment of Lander after watching him play several games at last weekend’s Archie Miller team camp:

Khristian Lander (2021) – Evansville Reitz:  Easily the most complete high major ready talent at the camp.  Lander is elite off the dribble, has a quick release on his jump shot, and has a fluidity in the way he moves that screams elite athlete.  His shot wasn’t always falling on the day, and he seems better off the bounce than off the catch.  But you didn’t need to see the ball go in every time to know why he might be the top 2021 point guard in the country.

The five-star is the top point guard in the class of 2021 according to some services, and he has a long and growing list of offers that includes Indiana, Purdue, Kansas, Louisville, Illinois and Ohio State.

You can watch Lander play live this weekend at the IBCA Top 100 camp at Ben Davis High School.

Lander is No. 4 in the videos below — all from this spring.  Fellow IU recruiting targets Anthony Leal (#3) and Trey Galloway (#32) are also in the first two videos.

These highlights are from the Underclassmen All American game.

You can see more video of Lander at the Fort Wayne Run-N-Slam here.
